Prince Charming Layout - My Sheri Crafts Challenge #89

Hello!  I hope you had a wonderful 4th Of July and are still having a fun and safe holiday weekend!  I'm glad you took a few minutes to stop by and visit!

Today we have another new and fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  It's "Picture This" and we are creating a card or project inspired by this picture:
Picture This!

Doesn't that picture just set your mind running with ideas?  Here is a layout I made:

I love the look of gingham checks!  They speak picnic, baby, springtime.....so many fun things!  But I decided it was time to get a start on layouts of my grandson.  I mean, he's 2 1/2 now and I haven't done even one!

These gingham papers are from Bo Bunny and The Paper Studio. The rick-rack ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the rick-rack card stock border has been in my stash for years!

Both of my granddaughters have "princess" layouts, so naturally I needed a "prince" layout!   This cut is fromthe "B is For Boy" cartridge

This cute little elephant is from the "New Arrival" cartridge.  The fun dotted buttons have also been in my stash for a long time, but I think I got them at Hobby Lobby also.

So now it's time for you to look at the inspiration photo again and hop to it!  Be sure to check out all my Design Team sister's great work and let them know how much you love it!  I can't wait to see your creations!

A couple of really simple Birthday Cards

Happy Monday!  I have just a couple of quick and simple birthday cards I made this afternoon that I wanted to share with you.  CAS-ual Friday's current challenge is to use 2 circles.  This is probably the simplest card I have ever made!

I used a 4 x 5 1/2 card base, cut 2 circles with the Creative Memories circle cutters, cut a 4 x 3/4 in strip of pink paper trimmed with scallop scissors and stamped the sentiment with a Pink By Design stamp.  Ta-da!  UBER simple and kind of cute!

This card will be entered here:

My second card is just barely less simple:

This card has 3 ball cuts from Sports Mania at 1" embossed with the cuttlebug, a circle cut at 2 1/2" and Pink By Design stamps from the "Simply Everything" and "Take The Cake" sets.   The patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View and the card base if from Hobby Lobby.

This card will be entered here:
Pile It On - cards for guys with sports theme
ABC - "S" for surprise - anything goes
Anything Goes - Polka Dots andBirthday

Sprinkled with Fun Birthday Card

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope you have had a great weeken!!  After a long, busy week I had a nice weekend and got a little crafting time in today!  Yay!  I made a birthday card just for fun and to join a few challenges that I've been missing lately.

The green pearl/swirl is from Zeva and was a gift from my great friend (and Design Team Leader) Sheri Holt.  Thank you Sheri!

This cute little girl is from Whoopsi Daisy.  I colored her with Crayola twist up pencils and pop dotted her onto a cut from Lacy Labels.  I resized them on my Gypsy.  I love being able to do that!  The little butterfly is cut from Imagine More.

The patterned paper doesn't have a name on the back, so I don't know the company.   I think I bought it at Michael's?  The sentiment is from Pink By Design's "Take The Cake" set.  I used 3 different stamps on that set to make it.
The inside is finished with another of the Lacy Labels cut, inked in red.  The card base is from Wal-Mart.

This card went together pretty quickly and I'm happy with it.  I'm entering it here:

Whoopsi Daisy - things with wings
Crafters Cafe - Pearls & Swirls
Bitten By The Bug 2 - Birthday & Pearls
Paper Playtime - anything goes with a sentiment
Pink by Design, PbD03 - Red, White & Blue

Cowboy Baby Shower Decorations

Hello again and welcome to another challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  Today our challenge is titled "Oh I Love America!"  It's time to celebrate our freedom so let's see your Patriotic cards or other projects, or use Red, White & Blue.

I titled the challenge from a song I heard at my granddaughter's Veteran's Day program a couple of years ago.  I was going to do a layout with pictures from the program for this challenge, but life kind of got in the way these past couple of weeks and scrapbooking just didn't happen!  My sweet father just had his 90th Birthday on the 18th so we had a BIG party on Father's Day.  He's having a really rough time health wise, but that day was a very good day.  Thank you Lord for that one really good day!  Since then he has started dialysis and had two ER visits, is currently fighting a bad infection and just really struggling.  My heart hurts for him and I would appreciate any and all prayers for him.

So anyway, I had an order for baby shower decorations with a cowboy theme.  When I finished it, I realized I had primarily used Red, White and Blue and what's more American than the Great American Cowboy?  So it qualifies for this challenge!

First we have the diaper cake:

The topper is cut from A Child's Year and mounted with pop dots onto Martha Stewart paper.  The paper is 8x8 bandanna print and I trimmed out the center of the print.
Each layer is banded with wood print paper from The Paper Studio.  The bands are decorated with cuts from A Child's Year and Old West, mounted on punched squares of the Martha Stewart bandanna print papers.

Next we have the banner!

The onesies are from the New Arrival cartridge and the bandannas, hats and letters are all from the Old West cartridge.  I used the Gyspsy to get the bandannas sized to fit the onesies.
The "It's a Boy" ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  I threaded it through the detail slits cut in the sleeves of the onesies.
So that wasn't too much of a stretch to say it qualifies for this challenge, right?  :)
I hope you like the decorations.  They were so fun to work on!   Now it's your turn to join the fun and head over to My Sheri Crafts!

Thank You to a Police Officer

Hello!  I'm so glad you stopped by today!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and off to a good start on your week.  Today I have a card to share with you that my daughter asked me to make.  One of the city police officers is leaving the force after a long term of service.  She requested "a thank you/best wishes kind of card".  Here's my interpretation of that request:
I also wanted to enter a card in the Just Rite Challenge.  I've never entered their challenge before, but I really like their stamps and have purchase a few sets.

This sentiment and border is from the Old Friends set.  I found a cut from Lacy Labels that matches the border stamp perfectly.  The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  I added a little bling with my I-Rock.I found this badge on Google images and handcut a mat for it.

I finished out the inside on both sides so everyone can sign it and the "Thank You" stamp from Stamp Craft is the finishing touch.  I hope he likes the card, and we do appreciate his years of service.

Please let me know what you think, I love to read your comments!

Simple Father's Day Card

Hello and Happy Saturday!!!  It's time for another challenge at My Sheri Crafts and this week we are recognizing Father's Day.  Let's Celebrate The Men In Our Lives!

My card is pretty simple, but I like the way it turned out.  It's made completely from scraps!

The background is made with  the negative pieces left on the mat after I cut a background page from Paper Lace.

I used a gold gel pen and doodled around each piece, then placed them on a diagonal.  The sentiment is backed by a scrap of shiny gold cardstock and then I used a Fiskars border punch across the bottom.  Easy Peasy!

So now it's your turn!  Celebrate your men and join us at My Sheri Crafts.  You just may be our next Guest Designer!
