Sympathy in Pink & Green

Hello!  Welcome and thank you for stopping by!  Today I have a card for our Tuesday Throwdown challenge, sponsored by Robyn's Fetish with a theme of Anything Goes!  I'll bet I see LOTS of you all there!

For this card I used Robyn's Fetish Lilly for a sympathy card:
This is mostly a one layer card, but I printed and colored a second copy of the lilly and pop-dotted it.  The sentiment, circle and border stamps are all from Just Rite.  The lilly is colord with Spectrum Noir markers

This inside sentiment is an "in and out" stamp from My Sentiments Exactly and I just used the "out" part of the stamp.

OK, now it's your turn!  Head on over to Tuesday Throwdown and join in the fun!

Oh Snap! Belated Birthday card

OOPS!  I was supposed to have this post up yesterday and completely forgot I hadn't made it!  I usually do all my DT posts a day or two early and schedule them, but obviously not this time!  So sorry Tuesday Throwdown team!

So it's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  We are sponsored by Milk Coffee and our theme is Celebrations.  I used Milk Coffee's "Tiffany in Wonderland" and made a belated birthday card.

The paper has been in my stash for a long time and I think it was in a tub of paper I bought at a yard sale.  The feather came from a bag of feathers my sister gave me, the flowers are Paper Studio and the gems were in a clearance sale set from Michaels.  I colored the digi with Spectrum Noir markers, the front sentiment I made on the computer, the inside sentiment is from Fiskars.

Come on over and join in the fun!  Hope to see you there this week!

Two Hearts Become One

Hi folks!  Glad you stopped by today!  It's Tuesday Throwdown time and this week we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and our challenge is use paints or mists.  Now this was definitely a challenge for me!  I've NEVER used paints and I don't even own any spray mists!  But....about a year ago I was blessed with a TON of craft supplies from a girl who's mother had passed away and she had been an avid crafter.  In those supplies were several bottles of acrylic paint.  I put them in a drawer and wondered what I would ever do with them or if they were even dried out.  So I pulled them out.  First I tried splattering the paint to make a background sheet...didn't work.  Then I tried "stippling".....nope.  Then I remembered reading about someone making their own spray mists, so I thought I'd give that a try.  I used a purple metallic paint and just added a little water and spritzed it onto a sheet of paper.  It made a really pretty, shimmery, lavender background paper!  Whew!

I used Robyn's Fetish "Hibiscus Valentine", printed twice and colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  I hand cut the top image and mounted it over the second image with pop dots (2 hearts become one...get it? LOL)  I then layered that onto a scrap piece of lavender satin paper, then put that onto the background piece I made.  After I had it all put together I spritzed it again with the homemade mist.

It actually came out pretty good!  And I stepped out of my box a little bit more, too!  I think that's the point of these challenges, isn't it?

So now head on over to Tuesday Throwdown and check out all the great inspiration, then join us!

Thanks for stopping in today!

Froggy Mother's Day

Hello!  It's time for another Tuesday Throwdown challenge and our theme is "Special Lady".  Our sponsor is the wonderful  Robyn's Fetish.  She has SO MANY great images to choose from.  I chose to use "Five Little Froggies" to make a Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law.  She collects frogs and in addition to having them placed around the house, she has a 4 shelf curio cabinet that is absolutely FULL of frogs!  So I'm hoping she likes this card!

I just think these frogs are so cute and I've always loved wishing wells, so it's a perfect combination!  I also like the contrast of this green foil paper with the burlap ribbon.  I created the sentiments on my computer using "Comic" font.

Supply list:  The Paper Studio - green foil paper and burlap flower
Offray - burlap ribbon
Sissix - leaf die cut
Spellbinders - labels
Imaginisce - Irock gems
Spectrum Noir - markers

Thank you for stopping by and visiting today! Please leave me a note and I hope you will come on over to Tuesday Throwdown and join in the fun!  See ya there!

Have a Cupcake!

Here is one more card I made this week.  I had this sweet Whoopsi Daisy girl colored and laying on my worktable just waiting to be used.   She's colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  I also had this label cut from Storybook laying on the table that I had left over from another project.  The sentiment is cut from Gypsy Wanderings.

I added a strip of cupcake ribbon I picked up at Hobby Lobby a long time ago and a piece of lace from my stash.  I ran the lace through my Xyron and then sprinkled white glitter over it to catch in the adhesive.  On the inside I cut a matching larger lable in white and left it blank.

Well, I'm all caught up now!  I have tomorrow off, so hopefully will have more to share this weekend!

I hope  you have a wonderful, blessed Easter weekend!

Cute Thinking of You Card

Hi!  It's Tuesday Throwdown time again!  This week we are sponsored by
Sassy Cheryl's Stampsand our theme is "Stitching".  I made this fun card using "Sally & Bella Go Camping".

I think this image is just adorable!  I've colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and stitched it to the cardstock with my little "Sew Crafty Mini".  I just picked up that blue ribbon at Wal-Mart on my way home from work today.  I love that color!  The patterned paper has no name on it, so I don't know who it is from.  I added some flowers and brads from my yard sale stash. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.  Super simple and fun!

Get stitchin' and come on over and join us!

"Roses Are Red, Dear, Violets Are Blue..."

"Angels in Heaven, know I love you.  Know I love you dear, know I love you.  Angels in Heaven know I love you!"  Did you know that is the 2nd verse of "Down In The Valley"?  I think I learned it when I was a kid but had forgotten it.  When I think of it now, in my head I hear that great big prisoner in the movie "Green Mile" (I think) singing it.  He had a beautiful voice and that was such a touching scene.

Anyway......it's Tuesday Throwdown day!  Our theme is "Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue" and we are sponsored by Simply B Stamps.    Boy!  She has some awesome stuff!  I was honored to get to use her "My Funky Valentine Betty" and here's what I created:

I did a lot of practicing on this girl before I got her colored good enough to use!  I colored 3 images before I got the clothes right and 2 more trying to get the hair right!  But in the end, I'm very happy with this card!

Supplies:

Digi- Simply B Staamps "My Funky Valentine Betty"
Image mounted on Spellbinders Die
Markers - Spectrum Noir
Label - Lacy Labels (stretched and sized with Gypsy)
Gems - Studio G

What are Little Girls made of????

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope you had a good week and are thoroughly enjoying your weekend.  It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts and we are hosted by Sandy.  She asked us to add at least one heart to our card/project.

I used a sentiment from Bugaboo and simply colored the hearts then mounted it onto a Spellbinders cut.  Back in the summer I bought a Sew Crafty Mini  and finally decided to try it out.  Well.....after I broke the needle, replaced it and inserted it wrong, downloaded the instructions and fixed my error, I finally got a little stitching done on this card! (and then covered up most of it!) But I did stitch the lace on the bottom and you can still see most of the stitching across the top.  ;-)

These paper flowers from Creative Memories really add a lot of dimension along with the lace from my stash and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Scraps and another paper flower on the inside finish this one.  Hmmmm.....NOW I see that I should have stamped "Congratulations" on the inside, so imagine that in there, okay?  It'll be there by the time this post goes live! LOL

Come on over the My Sheri Crafts and join in the fun!  Maybe you can snag one of our new "Ooh-La-La" buttons!

Thanks for checking in today!

Welcome Baby!

Good morning!  It's Tuesday Throwdown day!  Our challenge is sponsored this week by My Grafico and the theme is to make a one-layer card.

It was so hard not to add some ribbon!  ;)  This cute image is from My Grafico.  I wanted to keep it really simple, so I only colored in a few spots.  The sentiment I made with Bradley Hand font.  The dots are glue dots with glitter.  I embossed some lines down the side and across the bottom, using my Martha Stewart score board, but they don't show up very well in the pictures.  Be sure to heard over to Tuesday Throwdown and check out all the beautiful inspiration, then join in the fun!

I'd Be Lost Without You!

Hello Blog Buddies!   It's been awhile since I welcomed new followers and I see that we have almost reached 100!  Wow!  Welcome to all of you and thank you for joining me here!  When I first started this I seriously doubted I would get 15 or 20.  How exciting!   When we do hit 100, I will have a giveaway to celebrate, so keep an eye out for it!

It's time for another challenge at Creative Craft Challenges and we are having a recipe challenge this time.  Use 1 image, 1 sentiment, 2 patterned papers and 2 different embellishments.

I used a Whoopsi Daisy image, a sentiment I created in Microsoft WORD, papers from Provo Craft and , and my 2 embellishments are buttons and ribbon/tag.
I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers

The sentiment is printed on Safemat paper and adhered onto a tag cut with Tags, Bags, Boxes and More.

Well, I've had a great time working with the Creative Craft Challenges team, but this will be our last challenge for awhile.  Life gets really busy sometimes and Sandra, our blog leader, is just covered up with things happening right now.  So after this challenge we will be taking an extended break, so please come over and join us for this last challenge!  Hope to see you there!

Happy Retirement

Hello!  Today I would like to share a card I was asked to make for a retirement.  It was a little tricky as the retirement is state required and the man isn't really happy about it.  I didn't think a "congratulations" type card was in order, so I went with this:

With ALL the paper pads I have stashed away, I just didn't find the paper I wanted, so I used Stampin' Up stamp pads Chocolate and Berry to make stripes, then I lightly brushed the Chocolate pad over the stripes to blend.

This digi stamp is from Beccy's Place.

I made both sentiments on my computer.  With a little bit of black sheer ribbon and 3 black metal brad tops, it's complete!  Sure hope he likes it!

Thanks for stopping by!  I've entered this card here:

You Roped My Heart

Welcome to my blog for the first challenge of the year at My Sheri Crafts!  Sheri herself has set the challenge for us this time and the theme is "Delightful Digis" - use a digital stamp on your project.

I found this cute little cowboy in free coloring pages and I've looked and looked for him and can't find him again!  I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers.

I pulled out my Cricut markers and printed the sentiment with the Wild West cartridge.  I haven't used them in a long time!  The heart was cut out with Lovestruck cartridge and inked.   Added a little ribbon and a little bling and I was done!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please head over to My Sheri Crafts and see all the great inspiration there and join in the fun!  We have a new blog award button and it's awesome!!!

Bee My Honey!

Hi!  It's Team A's turn over at Tuesday Throwdown and this week our theme is "Wild About You" and we need to use stripes.  Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn and we were blessed to receive a stamp of our choice to use on our project.  I used this fun Honeycomb background stamp from the "Interlocking Backdrops" set for my stripes  in my project.
I stamped the "honeycomb" again on another piece of paper then printed my sentiment on it.  I used George and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut the tag and made my jump ring with some gold wire.

These bees are from "The Cutting Cafe", colored with Spectrum Noir and I added theses fun googly eyes.

The inside sentiment is cut with the Holiday Cakes cartridge.

There you go!  Now I hope you'll come on over and join in the "Wild About You" fun!

Lil' Gingerbread Cookie

Hi!  Welcome to my blog today!  It's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and our theme is "Christmas Cookies" - use some type of baking item on your project (sprinkles, baking cup,  etc).  We are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish this week!

I used some mini baking cups on my card with RF's "Gingerbread Baby", colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

I pinched the center of the baking cups and twisted them just a little, hoping to make the stripes look a little more swirled to look like lollipops.  But I think they turned out to look more like flowers, so we'll go with that! :o)   I twisted some green twine from The Twinery for the stems (or sucker sticks if we go with the lollipop idea).
These fuzzy covered buttons were in my button box and matched the green edge of the baking cups exactly!

I also looked through my stash of die cuts leftover from other projects, experiments, etc. and found these label cuts and one of the snowflakes.  The snowflakes and the white label are cut from white glitter cardstock.  The labels are Spellbinders dies and the snowflakes are from the Christmas solutions cartridge.   The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, stamped with white ink and then heat embossed with crystal powder.

There you have it!  This is a fun challenge that had me thinking a bit to use something new.  Just what a challenge is supposed to do, right?  So come on over and join the fun at Tuesday Throwdown!
