"Roses Are Red, Dear, Violets Are Blue..."

"Angels in Heaven, know I love you.  Know I love you dear, know I love you.  Angels in Heaven know I love you!"  Did you know that is the 2nd verse of "Down In The Valley"?  I think I learned it when I was a kid but had forgotten it.  When I think of it now, in my head I hear that great big prisoner in the movie "Green Mile" (I think) singing it.  He had a beautiful voice and that was such a touching scene.

Anyway......it's Tuesday Throwdown day!  Our theme is "Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue" and we are sponsored by Simply B Stamps.    Boy!  She has some awesome stuff!  I was honored to get to use her "My Funky Valentine Betty" and here's what I created:

Hello Blog Buddies!  It's time to throwdown another challenge with Tuesday Throwdown!  This week we are sponsored by Saturated Canary and our theme is "Birthday Party!"  How easy can it get?  Here's my card:

It was so fun to make!  I used papers from my stash that I've had since I first started collecting papers.

I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers, added Glossy Accents to her eyes and the cherry on her cupcake.  The plastic dot embellies were in a bunch of stuff I bought at a yard sale.  I don't know who makes them, but I hope I find some more someday!

This is a Stampendous stamp on a layered Lacy Labels circle, cut twice and sized with my Gypsy.

A little bit of fun on the inside, too!

Stars and Stripes - Tuesday Throwdown #154

Hello!  Welcome back!  It's time for another throwdown with Tuesday Throwdown.  We are sponsored this week by Robyn's Fetish and our theme is "Stars and Stripes".  I used Robyn's Fetish Apple Pie digi and had a lot of fun with this card.

I love the bright colors of this and that ribbon!

I think this is the first time I've used vinyl on a card.

Does anyone else walk around with your head down and pick up stuff people have dropped 'cause you "just might be able to use that"?  I found this star in the parking lot about 2 years ago!  Finally found the perfect spot for it!

More vinyl on the inside.

Supply list:

Celebrate - Gypsy Wanderings
Scalloped square - Lacy Labels
Paper - The Paper Studio
Doily - paper doily from my mom's stash
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug Stars
Ribbon - The Ribbon Factory
Glossy Accents

Now this challenge subject is an easy one, so there should be lots of you joining in this week.  Head on over the Tuesday Throwdown and check out the rest of the team's great inspiration with some really fun images from Robyn's Fetish!

Hello and welcome to another Creative Craft Challenge!  This week we were asked to "Alter It" and are sponsored by
Recently I received a perpetual calendar as a door prize.  I'm not crazy about bugs, so I altered it!

I went with birds instead!

I printed this great bird paper with Cricut Imagine Blossoms cartridge.

Added a label from Lacy Labels and a great stamp from Just Right Stampers plus a few flowers from my stash and there you go! The stamp is kind of hard to read in this picture, but it says "Autumn arrives at early morning, but Spring at the close of a winter day".  Now I love it!  :-)

Thanks for stopping in today, now go alter something and join us at Creative Craft Challenges!

"John Deere" Boot Birthday

*** HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!!!!  ***
Unbelievably, my oldest granddaughter turns 13 today!  Officially a teen-ager!  She became a huge John Deere fan about 2 years ago and I've made a couple of tractor cards for her.  This year I wanted to do something different, but still with her favorite theme.
The boot is from Old West cartridge and the label is from Lacy Labels.  I used a punch for the '13'.

Everything has been inked with Tim Holtz distress ink.  I really like how the boot turned out.  It doesn't show up too well here, but the yellow boot tip has some pen work that really makes it look almost real.
I added some Marigold and Pea Pod twine from The Twinery.  The sentiment is from K Andrews.
The inside sentiment is from Pink By Design and the stickers are NRN Designs.  Fun, simple card.  I hope she likes it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week.  It's Holy Week!  Be sure to take some time to think about what Jesus did for us and Praise Him!

This card entered here:

Scrappy Frogs - use green
Lady Anne - Sentimental Friday

My Sheri Crafts #102 - Snow People

Hellooooo!!!  Welcome to another challenge over at My Sheri Crafts!  This week Glenda asked us to use Snow People.  I really enjoyed this one because I just LOVE snowmen!  I have a fair sized collection of them that I always put out after Christmas and enjoy all through January and often through February, too!

I used a light blue, 5x7 card base and Die Cuts With a View paper.
The Snow family image is a freebie from Beccy's Place and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers; Base/Frame: Lacy Labels, snowflakes are holographic paper, stars are gold foil paper
The tag is cut from Lacy Labels; Sentiment is Computer generated;   Silver glittered brad swirls are from Recollections and a great find in the Christmas clearance at Michaels and the ribbon was on clearance at Joanns.  Great after Christmas scores!
Same Lacy Labels cut, sized to fit with my Gypsy and another holographic snowflake to finish out the inside.  All edges are inked with Tim Holtz Faded Denim distress ink.

So what do you think?   I love how it turned out and am really anxious to see what you make this week.  Be sure to check out all the great work of my DT sisters over at My Sheri Crafts, join in and HAVE FUN!

Sprinkled with Fun Birthday Card

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope you have had a great weeken!!  After a long, busy week I had a nice weekend and got a little crafting time in today!  Yay!  I made a birthday card just for fun and to join a few challenges that I've been missing lately.

The green pearl/swirl is from Zeva and was a gift from my great friend (and Design Team Leader) Sheri Holt.  Thank you Sheri!

This cute little girl is from Whoopsi Daisy.  I colored her with Crayola twist up pencils and pop dotted her onto a cut from Lacy Labels.  I resized them on my Gypsy.  I love being able to do that!  The little butterfly is cut from Imagine More.

The patterned paper doesn't have a name on the back, so I don't know the company.   I think I bought it at Michael's?  The sentiment is from Pink By Design's "Take The Cake" set.  I used 3 different stamps on that set to make it.
The inside is finished with another of the Lacy Labels cut, inked in red.  The card base is from Wal-Mart.

This card went together pretty quickly and I'm happy with it.  I'm entering it here:

Whoopsi Daisy - things with wings
Crafters Cafe - Pearls & Swirls
Bitten By The Bug 2 - Birthday & Pearls
Paper Playtime - anything goes with a sentiment
Pink by Design, PbD03 - Red, White & Blue

Thank You to a Police Officer

Hello!  I'm so glad you stopped by today!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and off to a good start on your week.  Today I have a card to share with you that my daughter asked me to make.  One of the city police officers is leaving the force after a long term of service.  She requested "a thank you/best wishes kind of card".  Here's my interpretation of that request:
I also wanted to enter a card in the Just Rite Challenge.  I've never entered their challenge before, but I really like their stamps and have purchase a few sets.

This sentiment and border is from the Old Friends set.  I found a cut from Lacy Labels that matches the border stamp perfectly.  The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  I added a little bling with my I-Rock.I found this badge on Google images and handcut a mat for it.

I finished out the inside on both sides so everyone can sign it and the "Thank You" stamp from Stamp Craft is the finishing touch.  I hope he likes the card, and we do appreciate his years of service.

Please let me know what you think, I love to read your comments!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #85-Wedding/Anniversary Card

Hello!  I'm so glad you stopped by!  It's time for a Wedding/Anniversary challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Use Black and White With a Pop of Color and start getting ready for those summer weddings!

I have a card to share with you today that I'm really excited about.  I just love the way it turned out!

The card base is Colorbok Glitter Paper in black for a finished size of 5 1/2 x 6.  The next layer is black and white patterned paper a friend gave me from a B&W paper pack she bought at Hobby Lobby.  The white and silver paper is from The Paper Studio 1 lb paper pack.
The lable cut is from Lacy Labels cut at 3 1/2 and 3.3 (sized on my Gypsy).  The white layer is embossed with my Cuttlebug using a Quickutz folder and inked with red.  The rose is cut from Potpourri Basket at 2 1/2 and accented with red glitter glue from Studio G.  The bloom is pop dotted at the top only, so the flower actually raises toward you just a bit.
The lace is from Wal-Mart and the pearls are from Premier Quality and were given to me by a friend.  The pictures don't show just how pretty these pearls are!  They are kind of a glass pearl and really shiny.  LOVE 'EM!!
LOTS of sparkle and shine to this card!

The inside is finished with another layer  of the patterned paper, black cardstock and white, inked with red.
This card could easily work for a wedding or anniversary either one, but I think I'm going to stamp the inside with a wedding sentiment and give it to my niece, who is getting married in June.

Well, it's time for you to head to your craft area and pull out some black and white and get creating.  Don't forget your pop of color!  Then link it up at My Sheri Crafts!  You just may be our next Guest Designer or win an "Ooh-La-Lah" Blog Award!  Be sure to check out the beautiful work of my DT Sisters!  Thanks for stopping by and please leave me a comment, I love to hear from you!

Hugs & Kisses!

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I have a card I would like to share with you that I made this afternoon just to enter into a few challenges.  I used the sketch from Whoopsi Daisy's challenge for this week:

And here is my card:

This little cutie is from Whoopsi Daisy and I colored her with Crayola colored pencils.  The circle was cut with Creative Memories circle cutter at 4" and is mounted on a cut from Lacy Lables.  The ribbon behind the ilabel is a Disney Tinkerbell and butterflies print bought at Wal-Mart.  The butterfly is cut from the Cricut Ultimate Creative cartridge.

The dotted paper is from The Paper Studio.  As you can see, my camera is still acting up and adding some neon colors here and there!   >:(
This stamp is from Studio G and stamped on a piece of scrap that I cut with scalloped scissors.
This inside stamp is also from Studio G and the paper is a cut that is preloaded on the Imagine.  The challenge over at My Craft Spot is to have a sentiment both inside and out.  Otherwise I probably wouldn't have posted this picture--the camera really looks bad here.

Anyway, I really like the card in real life!  It was fun to put together and I hope you like it.  Thanks for checking in!  Oh yeah---Tim agrees that I need to go camera shopping!!!!!

I'm entering this card here:
Whoopsi Daisy - sketch
My Craft Spot - inside and out
Love To Crop - Say anything
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Things with Wings
Anything Goes challenge - Anything Goes!

Happy Birthday Hanneke!

Today I wish a big "Happy Birthday" to my sweet blogger friend Hanneke! And for her birthday, she is giving someone else a gift!  To enter for her blog candy, she asked us to make her a birthday card and send it to her.  She loves making cards and sending them out, but doesn't have local friends or family who create cards, so she doesn't receive any. So she asked for some that she can admire.  What a fun idea!

Hanneke is so good about leaving sweet, encouraging comments that I thought this Studio G sentiment stamp was perfect for her.

The patterned cardstock is from K & Co.  The cut is from Lacy Labels.  I'm just beginning to discover what a fantastic cartridge that is!

The inside is finished out with scraps of this cardstock.

With the last of this paper, I finished out the envelope to match the card.
Hanneke, I hope you enjoy the card , receive lots of handcrafted cards to enjoy and have a wonderful, blessed birthday!!!

This card also fits these challenges:

Whimsical Wednesday - Spring inspiration (butterflies)
Flutter By Wednesday - open
