Patriotic Lantern

It's time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts and Glenda has chosen "Happy 4th of July - Make a Patriotic card or project".  I used a Silhouette cut file to make a fun lantern

I used fiber twine to make a "chain" and ribbon to cover the top and bottom.

I used some of the extra stars to hand down inside the lantern.  It really needs something else, but I just don't know what to do yet.  I'll keep studying on that!  Meanwhile, you head on over to My Sheri and check out the rest of the teams great projects!

I've entered this project here:

Jo's Scrap Shack - used red, white & blue
Silhouette Challenges - anything goes

My First 3D Patriotic Project!

Hi!  I'me really excited to share this project with you!  I've not done very many 3D items......matter of fact I don't think I've made one like this before at all.......    Anyway... here is my first 3D project with my Silouhette Portrait!

I had so much fun with this!  It was a Silhouette die cutting file  of one star so I cut my first one, figured out how to put it together, then sized it down a bit and made another one, sized it down again and cut the 3rd one.  Then I figured out I should have put the twine through them before I put them together, but was able to reopen them enough to make it work.

This is hanging on my back door, which is the one we always use and it just makes me smile every time I go in or out that door!  I hope you enjoy it too!  Thanks for stopping by!

This project entered here:

Die Cuttin' Divas - I Vow To Thee My Country (used Silhouette star die cut file)

Stars and Stripes - Tuesday Throwdown #154

Hello!  Welcome back!  It's time for another throwdown with Tuesday Throwdown.  We are sponsored this week by Robyn's Fetish and our theme is "Stars and Stripes".  I used Robyn's Fetish Apple Pie digi and had a lot of fun with this card.

I love the bright colors of this and that ribbon!

I think this is the first time I've used vinyl on a card.

Does anyone else walk around with your head down and pick up stuff people have dropped 'cause you "just might be able to use that"?  I found this star in the parking lot about 2 years ago!  Finally found the perfect spot for it!

More vinyl on the inside.

Supply list:
Markers - Spectrum Noir
USA - Stand & Salute
Celebrate - Gypsy Wanderings
Scalloped square - Lacy Labels
Paper - The Paper Studio
Doily - paper doily from my mom's stash
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug Stars
Ribbon - The Ribbon Factory

Now this challenge subject is an easy one, so there should be lots of you joining in this week.  Head on over the Tuesday Throwdown and check out the rest of the team's great inspiration with some really fun images from Robyn's Fetish!

Red, White & Blue Birthday Card

This card is for a friend who is very patriotic and her birthday is close to the 4th.  I hope she likes it, it was really fun to make!

The background paper is a mat stack I've had for a long time.  I know I got it from Hobby Lobby, but don't remember the brand.  The boy in the car is from "A Child's Year" cut at 2 1/2".  I inked the edges of the card with royal blue.

Again, I love pop-dots!

The tag is from "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More".  I tried several sizes, and am not sure which size this one is.  The stamp is from Studio G and the "ink" is Studio G's chalk ink.  I'm loving that stuff.  It shows up in color on even the darkest cardstock.  The "ribbon" is actually a strip of red cardstock that stuck on my cutting mat and came off in layers.  I usually hate it when that happens, but this time I could use it!

A quick finishing touch on the inside and voila!  And the coolest thing is, except for the star mat, this was all cut from scraps!

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:
Birthday Sundaes Stars & Stripes Challenge ( I hope it counts that my stripe is on the inside)
Designed 2 Delight Saturday Challenge
My Craft Spot
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday

Have a great day!!!

Independence Day card

Hello Again!  Today I have  an Independence Day card that I will use for a couple of challenges and then include it with the "Thank You Soldier" cards that our scrapbooking groups made at Daycamp this month.

The card base is 4 /14 x 5 1/2 and is from Hobby Lobby.  I cut the flag from"Stand and Salute" cartridge at 4".  That sizing made it too long for the card.  I could have used the Gypsy to resize it, but it was recharging upstairs and I was just too lazy to go up and get it!  So I just cut off the excess.   The fireworks burst is from the same cart. cut at 1 1/4".  The kids are from "A Child's Year" cut at 2 1/4"  I used my white gel pen to draw the stars, inked the edges and it's ready to go!

I'm entering this card in these challenges:
Creative Cutter Room Design Time Thursday
My Sheri Crafts Challenge

Thanks for stopping by!
