Snowflake card

My Sheri Crafts is back from our break!  It was so nice to enjoy the holiday break, but we are excited to be back with our first challenge of 2015!  Sheri herself is hosting this challenge and she's chosen "Let It Snow - Create a project that includes a snowflake!"  Easy Peasy, right?

I found this beautiful card cut on the Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge.  The under lay cut is white glitter paper,  With a simple strip of white shimmer ribbon and a snowflake brad, it's done!

I haven't put anything inside yet, because this card could be used for ANYTHING!  So I'm waiting to see what I need first.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join us!

Vintage Birthday Card

Hello!  I'm so glad you are here!  It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts and this time we are hosted by Sue.  She has challenged us to make a Vintage Guy Card.  No clean, crisp cards, thank you!  Let's get inky!

Now cards for guys are a challenge for me, but add vintage to it and I'm really having to get to work!  But here's what I came up with:

Not too bad, I suppose.... ;p

Supplies:
Patterned cardstock - Paper Loft
Sentiment stamps - Fiskars
Tag - Winter Woodland (I think....it has been laying on my worktable waiting to be used for quite awhile)
Rope - recycled from a package received
Stickers - Rebekah Sower
Key - one of the many found when we cleared out Dad's house
Distress Inks - Tim Holz

This was really a fun project, once I got started.  So come on over to My Sheri Crafts and join in the fun and get inky!

I'm entering this card here:

Cardz TV - birthday
Open Minded Crafting Fun - monochrome
Really Reasonable Ribbon - one for the boys

New Creative Craft Challenge

Hello!  Are you ready to play some Tic Tac Toe?  It's game time over at Creative Craft Challenges!  Here's the gameboard:

This week we have two great sponsors!
  and

I chose the middle line, Gems, Flowers, Ivory and made this card with some scraps and precuts that were on my work desk.

I found the kraft mat that I had already used the corner punch on and the lable cut from Winter Woodland that were both laying on the desk.  I mounted them onto a card base and rounded the corners of it.  Then I added some Prima Flowers and cut the butterfly from Cricut Ultimate Creative Sampler 3 times, adding some gems to it.   The flowers already had gems in their centers.  The stems in the flowers are from........well, I can't remember what cartridge those were on!  :p

I stamped the frame and sentiment with a  Just Rite stamp set, turning the frame on a corner.  I embossed the stamps with Copper embossing powder.
Here you can see the shine of the copper embossing powder.  I finished out the card with a strip and a knotted bow of dark brown ribbon.

So there it is!  Now what do you say you head on over to Creative Craft Challenges, check out all the great inspiration there and then join in the game!  See you there!

Marvelous Monograms at My Sheri Crafts

Hello and Happy Saturday! Welcome to my blog and another challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  For this challenge we are to make monogram cards or a special project with lots of style.  For my project I chose to alter a 5x7 journal I bought in the $1 bins at Michaels.

The original cover had a circus theme.  I should have taken a "before" picture, but I didn't have my camera downstairs with me. The glittery patterned paper is from K and Co.
I cut the "S" from Winter Woodland at 2 3/4" and covered the top layer with glitter.  The rosette border is a Paper Studio punch.

This intricate butterfly is on the Cricut Ultimate Creative Sampler Cartrige, Bonus key 3 with the shift key, cut at 1".  It's actually cut from dark purple, even though it looks blue here.
This satin ribbon was tied on a set of sheets I bought!  I glued the ribboon to the back of the book and added a little piece of velcro behind the bow to hold the book shut.
On the inside, I just added some light blue paper.

All the funky neon green is because my camera started acting up again.  I wish I knew why it's doing this!  Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't!

Now it's your turn!  Get monogramming and join us at My Sheri Crafts!  You may be our next guest designer!

Die Cuttin Divas - Pastels

Ice Skate card from scraps

I sat down at my craft table yesterday wanting to make something, but no idea what.  I began to pick up some scraps to put away and realized they could work together pretty well.  Then I remembered a challenge this week to use the ice skate from the Winter Woodland cartridge.  I put it all together and Voila'!
The card measures 5 1/2" x 4 3/4".  The background paper is some I bought a couple of years ago on the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby.  There was no lable.  The embossed piece was a preformed card that I didn't get the folder on straight when I was making a Christmas card.   So I cut it up to use.  The folder is the Cuttlebug snowflakes.  The silver cutout you will see again in the next post.  The paper is from Die Cuts With a View, Textures and Patterns stack.  I cut this in 3 sizes to determine what I wanted for my card for this weeks My Sheri Crafts challenge.  It's a beautiful cut from Paper Lace, "Lace 2" feature.  This one is cut at 4" with a few I-Rock gems added.  I used glitter paper for the skate (cut at 2 1/2"), but didn't get a picture that shows the sparkle.  I cut the skate a 2nd time from the silver paper and just used the blade and the bow.

The "Grace" stamp is  Stampabilities and actually says "God's Grace" but I used a marker to only ink up "Grace".  The skate is pop-dotted, the edges are inked with Royal Blue and the inside is finished out with a strip of the blue patterned paper on a strip of the silver paper (scraps of my scraps!)

I hope you like it, I was pleased with how it turned out.  And it cleaned up my table a little more!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back in a little bit for the new My Sheri Crafts challenge.  You'll see some great projects from the team again this week!

Snow Day Layout

Hello!  It's Challenge time again at My Sheri Crafts!  WooHoo!  This week we want to "Let It Snow"!  Create a card/project with a snow or snowflake theme.  Here is another layout of (who else?) my granddaughters playing in the snow.

Aren't they cuties?!  Maybe I'm a little predjudiced?  Most definately!

This cut is from Winter Woodland.  I just love that cartridge and especially this cut!  It's cut from white glitter paper.  The page borders are made with adhesive paper lace that I bought from LTD Commodities a couple of years ago, just stuck on a strip of plain blue cardstock.  Easy peasy!

This little tag is cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and then glittered, with a little strip of white & silver ribbon tied on.

This sled is cut from Stretch Your Imagination and the snowflakes are from the Christmas seasonal cartridge, also cut from glitter paper.

Thank you for stopping by, now get crafting and show us some snow!  Link up at My Sheri Crafts, I can't wait to see your projects!
