Tuesday Throwdown #136 - Thinking of You

Time for another Tuesday Throwdown!   This week's challenge is "You're On My Mind" - make a thinking of you card.   We are sponsored by:

I'm sending this card to a friend who received a bit of bad news recently.  I hope it cheers her some.

Isn't that duck cute?   I used my Spectrum Noirs to color "her" and distressed the edges in yellow.  The scalloped oval is preloaded on my Imagine and I had a scrap of a doily left on my work table.  The ribbon is from my stash and I can't remember where I bought it from for sure.

This sentiment stamp is from Studio G.

Come on over and join us!  Be sure to check out all the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the team!  See you there!

Silver & Lavender Friendship Card

Hello!  I'm so glad you stopped by today.  I've been a bit out of pocket lately, so I'm posting a card I made a week or two ago.  It was so simple, but turned out so pretty!
I first embossed a premade card base with an Mbossibilities heart folder.  Then added this beautiful ribbon that I found on sale at Michaels.  I love the silver edging on it!  The gems are from Say It In Crystals
The sentiment stamp is from Just Rite Stamps on Spellbinders, Labels Four labels.

Super simple, right?   But I love how it turned out!

Thanks for coming by, please leave me a comment.  I love reading them!

My Sheri Crafts #104 - Time to go Fishin'!

Hello all!  I'm so glad you stopped by today.  It's time for another fun challenge over at My Sheri Crafts.  This week our challenge runs through March 1st and "It's Time to go Fishin'! "  March 1st is the first day of Trout season.  I live near a state park so March 1st is a big deal in our town.  We even let out school for the first day of Trout Season!  So in this challenge I've asked everyone to include a fish in your project.  Here's mine:

The paper is from Die Cuts With a View and the cuts are all from Animal Kingdom.

I cut the fishbowl and the shadow cut from an old clear cutting mat cover so it would look like glass and you could see through it, just as you would a real fishbowl.  Then I made an outline cut of the bowl with silver metallic paper so I could glue the two pieces together with the fish, water and plant in between.  I used some old shell and sand stickers from my stash.

Doesn't it look like real glass?

The sentiment cut is also from Animal Kingdom,  with another coulple of "O"s and a bubble welded to it.  I bit of doodling with my white gel pen and a few gems from The Paper Studio and there you have it!

OK---your turn!  Head on over to My Sheri Crafts and join in the fun!  Be sure to leave some bloggie love for all the design team!  Hope you have a great week!

Tuesday Throwdown #134 - Bee You!

Hi! Welcome to my blog and another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown! This week we are sponsored by    The Cutting Cafe

And it's an Anything Goes challenge!

The Cutting Cafe shared some cute digis for the team to play with. Here's what I came up with:

Isn't that fun? I colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers. The dotted paper is from my stash and has no name on the back. I think it was in a bunch of paper I bought at a yard sale last summer.

The sentiment is computer generated. I saw this on a church sign recently and thought it would make a great card! The mat for it was cut from George & Basic Shapes.

Each bee is pop-dotted and the wings are bent slightly upward. I bent each body around my finger so they are curved a little bit and it really does make them look rounded like a fat bumble bee. It's hard to see that in the picture, but I really like how it turned out.

You can see the "fat" body a little better in this pic. Also each bee has a little bling on their back.

Simple finishing out on the inside and there you have it!

Your turn! Head on over to Tuesday Throwdown, check out the team's inspiration and link up your project! Don't forget to leave a little love!

See you there!

Teddy Bear Heart Shaped Card

Hi!  Glad you stopped by 'cause it's time for another fun challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges!
This we we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and our theme is "Hugs and Kisses".  Here's my fun card

I created the card base on my Gypsy by welding the shadow cut of a  heart shape from the Lovestruck cartridge.  The patterned paper layer is the base cut of the same heart cut.  The paper is from The Paper Studio.

This cute digi is from Robyn's Fetish, colored with my Spectrum Noir pens.  I was really please with how he turned out, considering this was my first attempt at coloring an animal!

And look!  He wobbles!!  I've tried several times to make an action wobble, but they've never turned out just real great.  This one actually worked!  He sits level, moves freely and...well...everything he was supposed to do!

So now it's your turn!  Gather up your lovey-dovey papers, digis, die cuts, etc. and join us!  Head on over to Creative Craft Challenges and check out all the wonderful DT inspiration, then link up your project!  Anxious to meet you there!

Quilled Valentine for My Sheri Crafts #103

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are having a great weekend!  Welcome to another My Sheri Crafts Challenge!  This week we are celebrating Valentine's Day, "showing some love to the ones we love"!

I started this card with a scrap that I had cut a heart out of for another project (cut with George & Basic shapes).  It grew from there!
If you've followed by blog much, you know I've just learned quilling lately.  Flowers seem to be the thing I've practiced on most, so I thought I better use some of them!

The fun heart paper is from The Paper Studio.  The flourish is a Ornamental Iron cut, but I trimmed off the bottom part of it.
The sentiment font is Pooh Font, sized and welded with my Gypsy.  These flowers on the inside are some quilled stickers I've had in my stash for a looooong time!

I don't know why, but it seemed like I really struggled with valentine cards this year.  I put this one together, but was stuck as far as a sentiment.  So I let it sit for a couple of days, then went back and the sentiment came so easy!  Now, if that will just work for the other card I've started, I'll have all 3 grandkid's cards made!

Your turn!  Start showing some love and share your valentine's with us over at My Sheri Crafts!  Be sure to check out the fantastic inspiration of the rest of the team!
