Snowflakes Are Fragile Frame

Hello Everyone!  Today I have a frame to share with you that I made for our challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Our theme this time around is "Winter - anything that makes you think of winter".  I always think of snow and I love snowmen, so this was a no brainer for me!

I found this sweet saying on the internet, author unknown, and loved it!  I know this is hard to read in the picture, it says "Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but look what they can do when they stick together."
The fonts are Elizabeth and Cricut Font.  I made my background paper with a rubber stamp and white embossing powder.  The snowman is a Cricut cut and this frame is a $1 find at a yard sale.

I added some simple snowflakes, also Cricut cuts, from white glitter paper.

Of course I needed some snow, so I put in some "Buffalo Snow Flakes" at the bottom.  A few flakes are drifting around, though!

It's really hard to get a good picture of these frames because of the glare and reflection, but I love how this one turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll pop over and join us!

A Vintage Thanksgiving

Hello!  Today I have a vintage Thanksgiving card to share with you for our new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Sandy has challenged us to Create a card featuring a Pilgrim, Indian, Cornucopia, Pumpkin, Turkey, or Pie .
I found this cute vintage picture in my files from CWC..  It made up a super quick and easy card!

I added a little bit of glue on some of the leaves and the hatband, the used a pretty gold embossing powder.

The poem on the image is this:

A Pumpkin I bring you for Thanksgiving Day,
With wishes that plenty may e'er with you stay.

I added a strip of cloth trim  and a scrap of leaf paper and there you go!

Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope you will check out the DT's creations and join us this week!

This week at My Sheri Crafts Peach challenged us with the theme "Creepy Crawly - Make a Halloween project featuring creepy, crawly and/or flying critters!"
I've used and image from Bugaboo called "Goth Girl".

Just for fun, I colored her with my sparkle gel pens, except for her skin.  For that I used a LG2 Spectrum Noir marker.  The spider web and tag are Cricut cuts and I used the pen feature to write the sentiment on the tag and the inside.

I love that font for a Halloween card!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come on over and join us at My Sheri Crafts!

Fall Box Decor

Hello again!  It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts and I have such a fun project to share!  Sandy has challenged us with the theme "First Day of Fall - Make a Fall Card or Project".

The other day I was at Hobby Lobby and found some super cute "Pumpkin" blocks that said "FALL" on them and I a-l-m-o-s-t bought them, but decided not to.  That very evening when I was catching up on email, I found My Scrap Chick had a cutting file to make the very same boxes with paper and right now it's on sale for $1(I paid $5)!  I was so happy!  I bought it right away and got started cutting!

I cut the file without resizing and it's perfect!  All I added was some inking and some raffia bows.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like what you found here!  Please come join us over at My Sheri Crafts!

Super Quick and Easy Christmas Card!

Welcome to my blog today!  It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts and Sue has challenged us to create something for Christmas with at least 3 embellishments.  I've made this super cute and easy card with the Cricut "Christmas Cards" cartridge.

It was so easy to make and I was able to use all scraps for it.  My embellishments are 3 rhinestones, 1 ribbon and bordering with a silver gel pen.  This was so fun I think I'm going to try some more with other papers!

Thanks for stopping by and now please head over to My Sheri Crafts and check out all the other great projects and join us!

Birthday Bicycle

Hello!  It's Saturday!  WooHoo!!!  I hope you have plans for a great weekend.  Part of what makes this weekend great is a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  This week Glenda has challenged us with the theme of "Travel -  Make a card/project with a mode of travel..car, truck, plane, etc"  Not a travel theme, a MODE of travel.  I used this great bicycle cut from Cricut and did a little inking:

I just have to say, I LOVE how this one turned out!!!  The mat and tag are also Cricut cuts.  The "Birthday Girl" stamp is from K Andrews "Take the Cake" set.  The awesome papers are from K&CO.

I handmade the double bow from some old sheer ribbon in my stash and used a little bit of gold wire to attach the tag

With the scrap left from my sheet, I made a liner for a pre-made envelope.

I hope you like it and I so appreciate you stopping by!  Please hop over to My Sheri Crafts and check out all the other great makes from the team, then join us!

Have a great day!

Back to School time at My Sheri Crafts!

Hello!   Where has the summer gone?  It's time for school again and soon it will be Autumn!  But today we start a new challenge theme at My Sheri Crafts and it's "Back to School".  I decided to alter some composition notebooks for my granddaughters to use.

There are a lot of videos on Youtube with instructions and ideas.  I intended to have more pictures of mine and show the inside covers, too, but it's been another of those weeks when I really needed to get something posted and had all kinds of internet and computer issues!  Anyway, I hope you like these and will join us at My Sheri Crafts this week!

Go Wild Cat!

OK, the internet at my new house and I are going to have it out soon!  It's been fine, then it's sloooooowwww, then it's fine and when I came home from work Friday---the router was completely dead!  It had been malfunctioning for over a week and I had talked to the phone company and was assured a new router was on it's way, should be here Tuesday.  So Friday I told them the router was dead and where is my new one?  Their answer...."Well Ma'am, the operator didn't actually complete the order so it was never sent to you."  UGGGGHHHH!   So now it's supposed to arrive today, so we will see if UPS left it for me when I get home.  No internet all weekend, so I'm using a little down time at work to get this posted.  But I'm wondering this:  if I called the first time on Thursday and the earliest I could receive it was Tuesday, how come I can call on Friday and receive it on Monday????

OK, another rant over.....

So here's my card for our new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  It was my turn to come up with the theme and since the Olympics start this week, I thought we needed to make something Sports Related.(any sport)

We had a week of Rodeo Bible camp, then a week of daycamp at work and I haven't been in my craft room for waaaayyy too long, so I pulled out a card I made a while back but never had posted.  This cut is from Cricut's Sports Mania cartridge.

The "Go Wild" a partial Cricut cut and "Cat" is welded type I added.  I actually made this one on my Gypsy a couple of years ago.

Thanks for allowing me to use an old project this week!  My summer commitments are slowing down now, so I should be able to get back in my craft room...now if the internet just works!

Thanks for stopping by!

Too Cute to Pinch!

It's another Saturday, which means another new challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  This time Sue has challenged us with "Down at the Beach" -  make something with a beach or seaside theme.  With the temperatures they're predicting for us next week, I'm going to wish I was at the beach!!

I used a card cut from Cricut's "Life's A Beach" cartridge for my card this week.  These make really cute, quick and easy cards.

The sentiment is computer generated, I just wanted a little rhyme for a my new Zippy Zebra buddy who is very young.  I added a little fuzzy yarn to his mouth, thinking it would just make it show up better, but it looks kind of like a mustache! I added the fuzzy bric-a-brac ribbon because I thought it kind of looked like waves and the stickers are some I bought at Dollar General years and years ago when I first started scrapbooking.  I finally was able to throw away the sheet!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join us this week!  See you there!

I've entered this card here:

Send A Smile For Kids - CAS
Creatilicious challenges - Anything Goes with option of CAS
Creative Moments - Anything Goes
Eclectic Ellapu - Purple team "Life's A Beach"

Red, White & Blue at My sheri

Hello!!!!!!!  Can you believe we are already half way through the year???  WOW it's gone fast!

This week at My Sheri Crafts Peachy is hosting and has challenged us with the theme of "Land of the Free - make a project with Red, White & Blue"

I decided to repurpose an old 8x10 picture frame.  The background paper is some flag stationery, the Praying hands were found on a Google search, then used Print then Cut feature on Cricut Explore.  I added some raffia and paper flowers, with a couple of wooden star beads.  I love how it turned out!!!!

I've entered this card here:
Eclectic Ellapu - midsummer

Since I had so much fun with that one, I made another!
The silhouette cut is from Cricut's Stars and Stripes cartridge

The quilled flowers are Cuttlebug's "Daisy" die.

Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope you'll join us!

Dora Tag Card

Hello again Bloggies!  This week at My Sheri Crafts, Raquel has challenged us with the theme "Tags, tags and more tags - Make a project that features a "tag"!  I made a tag shaped card for one of my "Zebra Buddies" who likes Dora the Explorer.

For the card base, I used the Flourish Tag from the Phrases Cricut cartridge, duplicated, flipped and welded.  Oh, and used the print feature on the Explore 1, which is AWESOME!!!
The stickers are leftover from my granddaughter's birthday scrapbook pages that I made several years ago.  (Those girls are both driving now!)  The stickers have a little shine to them that shows up more in this picture.  I added a few Paper Studio gems to the border sticker and one to the flower.  Cute and yet simple!  I think now that I should have welded a circle over the hole in the inside, but I guess it's o.k., especially now that it's all done and ready to mail!
If you would like to spread some smiles on some little faces fighting chronic illness and their siblings, check out Zippy Zebras Smiles & Hugs, they are always in need of more card senders.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join us this week at My Sheri Crafts!

Marshall from Paw Patrol???

Good Afternoon!  Today at My Sheri Crafts Sandy has challenged us to "Accessorize" our projects - Add either pearls or bling or both!  Well I needed a card for a little boy, so I went with some blingy stars.

This card is for another of my little Zebra Buddies who likes Paw Patrol.  I thought this cute pup from Cricut's Animal Kingdom looked enough like Marshall to work, don't you?  The fire truck is also a Cricut cut from City Transportation.  The paw prints are a Sizzix die and the background paper is from The Paper Studio's Nana's Kids collection.  The stars are oooooold ones from my stash and I don't even know what company!

I think he's cute and hopefully a 5 year old little boy will think he's Marshall!

Thanks for stopping by!

I've entered these challenges:

Send a Smile for Kids - bright colors
ABC Challenge - "H" is for Heavy (lots of dies & embellishments)
Alphabet Challenge - "F" is for "Furry Friends"

3D Hot Air Balloon!

Hello and Happy Saturday!!   It's my turn to host the challenge at My Sheri Crafts and I went with "Nothing Flat".  I'd like to see 3D items, but anything that isn't flat will work.
I've seen some of these Hot Air balloons and I've really wanted to make one, so when my mother-in-law asked if I could come up with some type of hot air balloon picture or something for her to give a friend, I decided this was it!  I bought the "High Skies" svg kit from svgcuts.com, grabbed some beautiful K & Co. papers and went at it!

For a first attempt, I'm really pretty pleased!  The only issue I had was that the score lines cut as a completely separate layer and then the base pieces of the balloon were cut with no score lines, so I took them to the scoring board.  Anyone have a suggestion as to why that happened and what I do about it?  On my mat it doesn't show them separate and look like they'll be done all in one cut, but then they split up when I hit "Go" in Design Space.

Anyway.....I do like how it came out and I'd like to make more, but I'd really like to figure out the glitch first.

I hope you'll check out all the great inspiration over at My Sheri Crafts and then join in the fun!!!

I've entered this project here:

Crafting By Designs - May anything goes challenge
Eclectic Ellapu - May anything goes

A Big "Howdy" from the Barn!

HOWDY!  This time at My Sheri Crafts Sheri has challenged us to make shaped cards!  Those are always fun!!!  I used a barn from Cricut's County Fair cartridge and made a card base with it.

Inside I used the Board front from the Old West cartridge.  I love being able to do this with the Explore!

This card isn't very fancy, but it's going to a little 7 year old boy that I'm just getting to know through the Zippy Zebra's Smiles and Hugs program.  This is a group that sends cards to children with chronic illness or special needs and their siblings.  No one gets left out!  I've got a drawerful of cards, so I thought this would be a great place to use a lot of them!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card!  I hope you'll join us in this fun challenge this week!

My First 3D Paper Flowers!

This week at My Sheri Crafts our new challenge is from Sandy and she's asked us to celebrate Moms by making something with flowers.

I've been seeing so many of these spiral cut flowers and they all look so wonderful that I just had to try them.  Mine don't look nearly as beautiful as so many I've seen, but I really like this wreath anyway!

All cuts are Cricut , the flowers are from Flower Shoppe, the fern type leaves are from Dinosaur Tracks and the others are from Heritage.

These were really fun and I love the little wreaths!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join us!

Thinking of You at My Sheri Crafts

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope you're ready for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  This week Sue has challenged us to make a "Thinking of You" type card.  It doesn't have to have those exact words, but must be along that line.

I used a "Make It Now" project from Cricut Design Space and added a few of my own touches:

I love the polka dots!  The paper is from Colorbok, the gems are from Recollections and the ribbon is from Joanns.  I'm leaving the inside blank until so I can use it for a general encouragement, sympathy or get well card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you over at My Sheri Crafts!  And by the way, I actually got this post up on time!!!

We have Spring Fever at My Sheri Crafts!

Hello!  It's another Saturday and another new challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  This week Peachy has challenged us to create a Spring themed project.  I found this cute bunny image on Cricut's "Kates ABC's" cartridge and quickly cut it out.  I had the piece of lavender cut left over from another project and they easily layered together.  I submitted this photo to the group challenge page:

I just kept looking at it and liked it o.k., but felt it needed a little bit of something else.  So I added this flower:

I think it's a little better, but I'm not sure I'm liking that flower either.  I'm going to keep looking at it and if I decide on something else I'll post another pic!

For now, just come on over to My Sheri Crafts and share your Spring Themed projects with us!

Silly Rabbit Frame

Hello again!  I'm late on another post, but at least I'm posting again!  Saturday started a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  This week we were challenged to Use Lace.

I made a frame for Easter:

All cuts and fonts are Cricut cuts.  The "Silly Rabbit" font is Baby Steps and the "Easter" & "Jesus" font is Elegant Cake, Plain.

I hope you like my frame and I thank you for stopping by!  Have a great week, but be sure to join us at My Sheri Crafts for lots of fun!  You just might be one of our Guest Designers!

Jingle All The Way Shadowbox

I am in the middle of packing up my whole house and moving!  My whole craft room is in cardboard boxes and I'm having such severe withdrawal that I forgot to make my last post for My Sheri Crafts!  This was due up Saturday, the 2nd!

This time our challenge theme is "Let's Build a Snowman - include a snowman in your project".  I've seen lots of these "Jingle All The Way" shadowboxes and decided to make one of my own.

I used "Precious" font and some snowflake cuts from Cricut.  My snowmen are on the cute background paper.  I've filled the shadowbox with various sizes and colors of jinglebells.  I love the way it turned out!

Sorry I'm so late with my post, and I'll be back with a new project as soon as I can get my craftroom moved and set up!
