Life is Like A Piano...

Hello!  It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts and this time it's my turn to host and I chose "Celebrate the Piano".  September is "Piano Month", so let's see cards or projects with a music theme or musical instrument--preferably a piano!

I recently bought a stack of picture frames at an auction and I chose to alter this beautiful black and gold frame:

This sentiment is on a digi stamp from Digi Darla, but I designed it in Silhouette studio to cut from vinyl and put on the top of the glass to make a 3D effect.  The piano is a "A Child's Year" Cricut cut, the background paper is from Anna Griffin and I finished it off with some Primo flowers.

You can kind of see the 3D effect in this view.

I hope you'll head over to My Sheri Crafts to check out all the wonderful inspiration there and join us!

This project entered here:

Tuesday Throwdown #210

This week at Tuesday Throwdown, we are sponsored by Freckled Fawn and our theme is the ever popular "Anything Goes"!  Freckled Fawn was so generous they sent each of us a great little packet of items to use and here's what I came up with using my gifts:

I used an acrylic frame, stickers and washi tape from Freckled Fawn.  The stamp is from Stampabilites, the flower is from The Paper Studio and the paper is from Melody Ross.
I used a Happy Birthday stamp from Hero Arts on the inside.

So it's a super simple theme this week, no excuses for not joining in!  See you there!

My First Christmas card of the year!

Hi!  I hope you're having a great weekend!  It's time for a new challenge over at My Sheri Crafts and this week we're being angelic!  :)  Peachy set the theme this week:  August 22 is "Be An Angel Day". Let's feature projects with an angel/angels in them!

I went to my favorite angel cut which is from Cricut cartridge "Christmas/Noel" and used silver foil paper for the angels.

The background paper is some leftover from last year's Christmas cards and it's printed with Cricut Imagine cartridge "Snow Angel".  I really like this paper!

The sentiment stamp is from Stampabilities and I've used embossing powder on it.  Now the crazy thing is, I've had this set of embossing powder for 3 or 4 years and never used the gray tube because I just never wanted anything embossed in gray.  But I've wished I could find a nice silver powder for a LONG time.  So imagine my surprise when I decided to try this gray and see how it came out......it's a beautiful SILVER!  I've had it all along!  Sometimes I'm just really slow!

Anyway, this is a really Clean and Simple card and I liked the way it turned out.  So now, find your inner angel and come join us at My Sheri Crafts!

Have a Hoot!

It's Tuesday Throwdown time again!  This week we are sponsored by MyGrafico and we have a Sketch Challenge!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers, used some ink to distress the edges to match the paper, added Glossy Accents to those big eyes and mounted it on My Mind's Eye papers.  The sentiment is a Pink By Design stamp.

The inside sentiment is computer generated with "Curlz" font.

So come on over and join in the fun!

Golden Anniversary card

I would like to share a card today that has a little funny history.  My husband told me that some friends of our were in the paper for their 50th anniversary and we had missed their reception, so would I please make them a card and get it sent to them.  So I made this:
After taking pictures, I sat down to sign it and before I wrote "So sorry we missed your reception" I thought I better check the paper again just to make sure we actually had missed it.  Imagine my surprise when I found the announcement for their "45th Anniversary reception"!!!  Since I had already started writing in it, I carefully removed the inside liner and made a new one!  This card then went to the local store that sells my cards.

I used Just Rite's lace frame stamp and embossed it with gold.  It really shimmers! The "50" is cut from Plantin School Book, run through the Xyron twice and embossed in gold also, then mounted on a Spellbinders die that was edged with a gold metallic paint pen.  The ribbon is from Wal Mart with a slide from The Paper Studio.  The flowers are also from TPS and the inside stamp is from Hero Arts.

Well, now to get a 45th Anniversary Card made!
Thank you for checking in!

This card entered here:

Crazy Challenges - love & marriage
Crafter's Cafe - lots of layers
Eclectic Ellapu - Purplies, anything goes with option of watercolors (didn't use option)
Crafts 4 Eternity - anything goes

My Sheri Crafts #139

Hello & Happy Saturday!  It's time for another challenge at My Sheri Crafts and it's super fun one!  Non-traditional shaped cards.  Any shape or fold, besides the straight edged standard cards are allowed.  I have a sweet little birthday card for this challenge to share.

This is a silhouette cut and all the papers are scraps!  I used a Stampin' Up birthday stamp inside.  A little bit of white gel pen accents and ribbon and it's done!

Now come one over and join in the fun!

I've entered this card here:
