Bunny Head Shaped Easter Card

Happy Easter Bloggies!

I have my final Easter Card to share with you today!  I finished it a few days ago, but just now getting it posted.  This one is for the 3 year old and I think it's just a fun one!

I cut the bunny head with Easter 2010  at 4 1/4 tall.  I hid the face features because I wanted to use my Peachy Keen face stamp.  But after cutting it, I realized the stamp set I have is too small, so I attempted to draw the face myself.  It's not as cute as the stamps, but it will work!  I covered it with clear crystal embossing powder that I've had a long time and seldom use;
   made my own wobble spring;
And cut the sentiment also from Easter 2010.

Super fun and super simple!
Thanks for stopping in!

My Sheri Craft #107 - Spring Has Sprung!

Welcome Spring!  I love this season!  At My Sheri Crafts we are celebrating Spring, so we were asked to "Create a card/project that says "spring" to you (i.e. flowers, sunshine, green grass, etc.)"  Now my first picture is definitely not a Spring item, but here's my story.  I had my Snowman collection out after Christmas and finally got it put away in early March.  I don't know about you, but every time, and I do mean EVERY time, that I put a collection away I find something I've missed a day to two later.  Well this year it was this little snowman spade:

I thought about taking it down to the basement, untaping the box and putting it away.  But then I decided the back side of it could be a Spring spade.

Recently, I was given a bunch of vinyl scraps and I thought this was the perfect time to use some of it.

I covered the spade with white vinyl, then used cuts from Easter 2010 and Stretch Your Imagination to make this little spring scene.  I also added a few butterfly and ladybug stickers from my stash.

It's nothing fancy, but it was fun to make and I like the result.  I hope you'll join us with your Spring Celebration creation!

See you again soon!

Tuesday Throwdown #140 - What's in Your Basket?

Hey, it's Tuesday and time to throw down another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown!  We want to know "What's In Your Basket? - make something dimensional (basket, box, etc)"  This week we have are sponsored by the super fun Creations By AR.  She was so gracious as to let Design Team A pick a cut file to use.  You have got to be sure and check out all the fun creations by the design team here.

I chose the One Drawer File, it's a perfect size for an A2 size stationary set.   I used My Mind's Eye papers, some lace given to me by a friend and a brad from my stash.  The box was cut from plain white cardstock, so I inked the white corners to blend it in with the papers.
Now to make some matching stationary, then I'll have a nice little gift all ready!  I think I'll give it to a friend who helped me out at work recently.

Be sure to check out the store at Creations by AR.  She has some awesome files!  Now it's your turn!  Can't wait to see your dimensional projects!

Peek-A-Boo Chickie!

Hello!  Thanks for stopping in today.  I have my second Easter card to share today (one more to go!).  I used some scraps laying on my work table for most of it!

The chick and the egg are cut from Create A Critter.  I used my Gypsy to hide the face features and stamped a Peachy Keen face instead.  Much cuteness added!!!

I used a distressing tool to ruff up the edges of the chick and make him look a bit more like a fuzzy little chick.

What do you think?  I had fun with it and got some more scraps used up!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

"John Deere" Boot Birthday

*** HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!!!!  ***
Unbelievably, my oldest granddaughter turns 13 today!  Officially a teen-ager!  She became a huge John Deere fan about 2 years ago and I've made a couple of tractor cards for her.  This year I wanted to do something different, but still with her favorite theme.
The boot is from Old West cartridge and the label is from Lacy Labels.  I used a punch for the '13'.

Everything has been inked with Tim Holtz distress ink.  I really like how the boot turned out.  It doesn't show up too well here, but the yellow boot tip has some pen work that really makes it look almost real.
I added some Marigold and Pea Pod twine from The Twinery.  The sentiment is from K Andrews.
The inside sentiment is from Pink By Design and the stickers are NRN Designs.  Fun, simple card.  I hope she likes it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week.  It's Holy Week!  Be sure to take some time to think about what Jesus did for us and Praise Him!

Creative Crafts Challenge - For The Kids!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  It's time for another challenge at Creative Crafts Challenges and this week we have two wonderful sponsors -

For my card this week I've used an image from Doodle Dragon and made a Get Well card.
This is the first time I've used a pre-colored image, but I was running short on time to get this ready for the DT post.  Isn't he cute?

The sentiment is computer generated and I hand cut the banner.  The ribbon is some I've had in my stash for a looooong time.
The stamp is from Stampabilities and all the ovals were
cut with the Creative Memories oval cutting system.

Very simple, but I think it made a cute card.  Thanks for checking in today and be sure to head over to Creative Craft Challenges to check out the rest of the team's inspiration.  Then join us!  See you again soon!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge - Easter!

Hi Bloggies!  It's feeling like spring here in the Ozarks and I love it!  I hope your weather is beautiful, too.

It's time for an Easter challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  I made a fun little card:

Looks like the Easter Bunny is peeking in on his secret stash in the bunny hole! :-)

The bunny is cut from the Cricut Spring 2010 cart., then I added a little lavender ink sponged around the edges.  The lace trims are a gift from a fellow MSC teamie.
This basket is a sticker I found on clearance at Joanne's after Valentine's Day and it originally had a red heart in it.  I just pulled that out, punched a few ovals with a hole punch and glued them in.  Voila'!  Now it's an Easter Basket instead of a Valentine Basket!  The stamp is from a set I bought from LTD Commodities years ago.
Did you notice anything goofy about my patterned paper?  If you did, well, what's a girl to do after you've already glued it down?  If you didn't, I'm not tellin'!

Now it's your turn!  Head over to My Sheri Crafts and check out all the cute, fun team inspiration and then join us!  See if you can get yourself the new "Ooh-la-la" button or a Guest Designer spot!  Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Throwdown Paper Piecing

Hello Blogland Friends!  It's Tuesday and that means we're throwing down another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown!  This week we are Paper Piecing and are sponsored by:
Fred, She Said Designs .... The Store
Tracy was sweet enough to let our Design Team A each choose one item from her store to use for this weeks challenge.  I LOVED looking through her store and finally settled on this flower, V6 Daisy, to make a sympathy card.

I matted the flower on a couple of ovals from Spellbinders fancy ovals die cuets.  The lace I've added is a gift from another DT Buddie.  I felt like it was just what this card needed!  I added a simple brown glitter brad.

Isn't that cool?!?  Just look at all this layering!  I had so much fun looking through her store.  There's a ton of great stuff there!  This flower pattern also has frame borders to match, but I didn't use them this time.  Be on the lookout for this flower again with the matching borders.

I added a sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up, then hand cut it and the mat for it.  The card base is cut to 5x7 from Anna Griffin paper.

The inside is finished out with some oatmeal colored paper on a Kraft paper mat.  I used a Martha Stewart corner punch and a stamp from Stampabilities.
Well, now it's your turn.  Show us your Paper Piecing projects and have fun!  Can't wait to see what you create!

My Sheri Crafts #105 Read Across America

Hi Bloggies!  Are you having a good weekend?  I am way late getting this post up 'cause today was District Choir Competition and I was gone all day playing the piano for solos and ensembles.  I was working hard on music all week and totally forgot to schedule a post!

Anyway....this week Charlotte hosted the challenge at My Sheri Crafts and our theme is "Read Across America" - Make a project that has something to do with reading. Examples are bookmarks, projects with a book on it, image of reading, something about your favorite book, etc.

I made a corner book mark.  I have seen these before and thought they were neat, so I gave it a try.

The paper is from Anna Griffin,  the little strip is the other side of the pink.  The flower is Creative Memories paper flowers.

On the back side I added a cut from A Child's Year and a few gems from The Paper Studio.

That's it....simple little corner bookmark!  Now it's your turn! Come on over and join us!
