Bee My Honey!

Hi!  It's Team A's turn over at Tuesday Throwdown and this week our theme is "Wild About You" and we need to use stripes.  Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn and we were blessed to receive a stamp of our choice to use on our project.  I used this fun Honeycomb background stamp from the "Interlocking Backdrops" set for my stripes  in my project.
I stamped the "honeycomb" again on another piece of paper then printed my sentiment on it.  I used George and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut the tag and made my jump ring with some gold wire.

These bees are from "The Cutting Cafe", colored with Spectrum Noir and I added theses fun googly eyes.

The inside sentiment is cut with the Holiday Cakes cartridge.

There you go!  Now I hope you'll come on over and join in the "Wild About You" fun!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #96

Hello again!  I hope you are having a great, Autumn weekend!  I love this time of year!  It's cooler, we finally have had some nice rain and the trees are actually showing some color.  I was so afraid they wouldn't.

But it's time for a new challenge with My Sheri Crafts and we are looking for anything Halloween Related.  I've made my first Halloween card this year for one of my grandkids.  It's also the first project I've made with my Imagine Buccanneer cartridge and the first time I've printed paper!

The "happy halloween" is from Holiday Cakes, but the "Have A" is from Billionaire and I used my Gypsy to weld the letters and make a shadow cut.

Isn't he a snazzy pirate with his purple feather?  I cut all the layers and pop-dotted them so he has lots of dimension.

<-  And the inside.  I hand wrote the "Or You;ll" on the sword.  On both mats I used a distressing tool from Creative Memories, inked the edges with Tim Holz "Rusty Hinge" distress ink, then lightly wet the edges and scrunched it up.

What do you think?  I kind of like it and it was lots of fun to make. Now it's your turn!  I'd love to see your Halloween creations linked up at My Sheri Crafts!  Be sure to check out all the Design Team inspiration and our guest designer's beautiful work!

It's Challenge Time Again At My Sheri Crafts!

Hello again and Happy St.  Patrick's Day!  I hope you are having a fun and crafty weekend.  It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts today.  Easter is coming and this week we are asking you to create a card or project with spring's gorgeous pastels.  You also need to be sure to check out the blog post to help us welcome (back) our new Design Team Member!!

 Here is my card:

The card base is cut at 5 1/2 x 6 from lavendar cardstock and that cute patterened paper is from The Paper Studio.  The egg cut is from Easter 2010 cartridge, cut at 4".  I used a light blue glitter paper from Colorbok for the top layer and cut a small scrap of light pink to back the flower cut.  You might notice that I used the same glitter paper on my previous post---I LOVE that color! :)

Isn't that a pretty cut?

The sentiment is cut from Holiday cakes at 1"

I used pop dots behind the cuts and added a yellow bow from my stash and a pink button from Wal-Mart.  You can see that I finished the inside with a piece of the pink cardstock and a strip of the patterned paper.
I love these colors and am happy with the finished card.  I hope you enjoy it and find some inspiration from it.  Now pull out all those pretty pastels and join us at My Sheri Crafts!  You just might be our next Guest Designer or win an "Ooh La La" award!

This card is also entered here:

Do You Stack Up - Use your Favorite Color (light blue on egg)

"Batty Birthday"

One of the boys in my Sunday school class today has a birthday Oct. 29th.  He was so excited to tell me "I'm having a birthday-slash-Halloween Party", as he told me SEVERAL times!  So I thought I would make him a card specifically for his "birthday-slash-Halloween party".  :)
The card base looks black, but is actually a dark purple scrap of cardstock cut at 6 1/2" x 10" to make a 6 1/2"x5" card.   All of the papers are scraps from my stash, so I don't have any company names.

The little bats were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I cut them at 1/2" with the 'Real Size' dial on, the gift box is from Holiday Cakes cut at 3".  I really had a hard time not making that bow all glittery!  I had to keep reminding myself this was for a 10 yr old boy!
This bat is from Holiday Cakes, blackout feature, sized and manipulated on my Gypsy.  I wrote the sentiment with a green glitter gel pen--I just HAD to have a tiny bit of sparkle somewhere!  :)
The inside bat is the same bat cut from Holiday Cakes without the manipulating.  I really wish the colors showed up correctly, the bat looks pretty good against that dark purple.  I hope you and the birthday boy like the card!  Thanks for coming by!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Birthday Sundaes - use green, purple, black and white
More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday - Halloween
Cooking With Cricut - purple & green

Halloween Card #3

Hello!  I hope you have had a great, beautiful and craft-filled weekend!  It has been BEAUTIFUL here in Southwest Missouri.

I got my third and final (I think) Halloween card.
This card will go to my 21 month old grandson, so I kept it pretty simple.  No extra embellishments that he might pull off and try to eat!  I used all scraps on this piece.  I love it when I can use some of those up!  The background paper is from Doodlebug Designs, the ghost is from Paper Pizazz, Fall book.  I've just about used that book up and bought it at a yard sale back when I first started scrapbooking.
"boo" is cut from Holiday Cakes at 1" and the haunted house is from Paper Doll Dress Up.  I had cut 2 of those last year for cards and didn't use them.  I was tickled to find them, but not sure what size I cut them, approx. 2".
This little ghostie is also cut from Paper Doll DU, and was another cut from last year.  He's about 1" tall.  All edges were inked with Pumpkin Orange ink, and I drew the face on this  ghost with a white gel pen.

Thanks for coming by and have a super week!

1st Halloween Card of 2011

Now that the worst of the Fall "busyness" is over for me, I have been looking over several challenge blogs.  I don't do much for Halloween, but my grandkids do expect to receive their cards, so I decided I'd just as well get started on them.  So here is the first one for this year:
Isn't he a cute little guy?  I used a scrap piece of black textured cardstock cut 6x11 for the card base.  The green mats (inside and out) are also from my scrap stash.  The patterened paper is the only piece that was not from scrap.  I bought that paper at a yard sale and there was no name on the back,so I don't know who's it is.
The little spider stickers are from Hallmark.  I had used almost all of the other stickers on that sheet, so they are kind of scraps, too!
"Happy Halloween" was cut from Holiday Cakes cartridge at 1" on scrap pieces of orange and shadow cut on black.  Then I added stitching to it and around Frankie with my green glitter gel pen.

"Frankie" is from Paper Pizazz - again, one of the few things I have left in that collection.  The ribbon came from Wal-Mart and added a nice touch.
I made this card to complete the challenge at Creative Cutter Room blog hop/challenge,which is Fall/Halloween with faux or real stitching, a sticker and ribbon.  Then I found that it qualified for a few others.  So I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Cricut Creative Cutter Room
Celebrate the Occasion - ribbon
Love To Crop - mostly scraps
My Sheri Crafts - stitching, real or faux

I hope the Trick or Treat weather is as beautiful as it is now!  I'll be back soon with another post...I actually got TWO cards done yesterday!  WOO HOO!!  Thanks for stopping by!
