My First 3D Patriotic Project!

Hi!  I'me really excited to share this project with you!  I've not done very many 3D items......matter of fact I don't think I've made one like this before at all.......    Anyway... here is my first 3D project with my Silouhette Portrait!

I had so much fun with this!  It was a Silhouette die cutting file  of one star so I cut my first one, figured out how to put it together, then sized it down a bit and made another one, sized it down again and cut the 3rd one.  Then I figured out I should have put the twine through them before I put them together, but was able to reopen them enough to make it work.

This is hanging on my back door, which is the one we always use and it just makes me smile every time I go in or out that door!  I hope you enjoy it too!  Thanks for stopping by!

Trophy Saddle Layout

Hello!  Thanks for coming by today!  I have a layout to share with you that I made for the challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Sheri chose the theme "A Star Is Born" - use at least 2 stars on your project.

I made this layout using a western kit from Karen Foster, border punch from Fiskars and label die from Spellbinders.

Oh Snap! Belated Birthday card

OOPS!  I was supposed to have this post up yesterday and completely forgot I hadn't made it!  I usually do all my DT posts a day or two early and schedule them, but obviously not this time!  So sorry Tuesday Throwdown team!

So it's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.  We are sponsored by Milk Coffee and our theme is Celebrations.  I used Milk Coffee's "Tiffany in Wonderland" and made a belated birthday card.

The paper has been in my stash for a long time and I think it was in a tub of paper I bought at a yard sale.  The feather came from a bag of feathers my sister gave me, the flowers are Paper Studio and the gems were in a clearance sale set from Michaels.  I colored the digi with Spectrum Noir markers, the front sentiment I made on the computer, the inside sentiment is from Fiskars.

Come on over and join in the fun!  Hope to see you there this week!

I've entered this here:

Scrapper's Delights - anything goes
Creatilicious - Birthday
Eclectic Ellepu - Time

Hello!  I just want to share another Father's Day card I made.  This is another variation of the cut I designed on my Gypsy and cut with my Cricut Imagine that I had posted a couple of weeks ago.  This one has a shaped liner and I used Purple foil paper.  The flowers are from my stash, from The  Paper Studio I believe.

I'm entering this card in a few challenges, here:

Fantabulous Cricut - Celebrate Dad
Crafts 4 Eternity - For the Boys
CardzTV - Father's Day

Card & Envelope set - Praying for You

It's time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  DT sister Sue has set a theme of "3 in a Row" and here's the chart:

I went with "Emboss, Pearls, Flowers" and made a card with matching envelope:

The Pearls are the gold "pearls" in the center of the flower.  I know I'm stretching a little bit on that, but hey, it was a hectic week and I had a major need to use my new toy, I mean tool!!!

I watched Darsie Bruno's Tuesday Tutorials using the We R Memory Keepers envelope board and decided I needed one of those!  You can see her great tutorials here and here.

The sentiment stamp and oval stamp are from Just Rite, plain ovals are cut with Creative Memories oval cutting system, fancy oval is Spellbinders.  The beautiful patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View and I added a Prima flower and some Paper Studio flowers, half of a doilie and two ribbons from Wal-Mart.  The envelope is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

I love how this set came out and think I'll be making more!  Loving my new envelope board!!

I hope you will join in the fun at My Sheri Crafts this week!

Two Hearts Become One

Hi folks!  Glad you stopped by today!  It's Tuesday Throwdown time and this week we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and our challenge is use paints or mists.  Now this was definitely a challenge for me!  I've NEVER used paints and I don't even own any spray mists!  But....about a year ago I was blessed with a TON of craft supplies from a girl who's mother had passed away and she had been an avid crafter.  In those supplies were several bottles of acrylic paint.  I put them in a drawer and wondered what I would ever do with them or if they were even dried out.  So I pulled them out.  First I tried splattering the paint to make a background sheet...didn't work.  Then I tried "stippling".....nope.  Then I remembered reading about someone making their own spray mists, so I thought I'd give that a try.  I used a purple metallic paint and just added a little water and spritzed it onto a sheet of paper.  It made a really pretty, shimmery, lavender background paper!  Whew!

I used Robyn's Fetish "Hibiscus Valentine", printed twice and colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  I hand cut the top image and mounted it over the second image with pop dots (2 hearts become one...get it? LOL)  I then layered that onto a scrap piece of lavender satin paper, then put that onto the background piece I made.  After I had it all put together I spritzed it again with the homemade mist.

It actually came out pretty good!  And I stepped out of my box a little bit more, too!  I think that's the point of these challenges, isn't it?

So now head on over to Tuesday Throwdown and check out all the great inspiration, then join us!

Thanks for stopping in today!
