Mother-in-Law's Birthday card

Hi again!   Today I have the birthday card I made for my MIL, which I also got done at the crop I went to this past weekend.  I just love the way this one turned out.

I originally cut this card from some BEEEUUUtiful K & Co. double sided cardstock at 5 1/4" x 12" to make the card 5 1/4 x 6 finished size.  I cut out the label cut with Gypsy Wanderings and just wanted to see if the cuts lined up well and was going to cut down the brown to fit the inside of the top so it would be a floral card with the brown "lining" inside the cut.  But when I laid the two pieces together and saw that brown edge I just fell in love with it!

The sentiment is from Pink By Design and originally said "Fishing you a Happy Birthday", but as you can see, I used a brush marker (Stampabilities) to only ink up part of the stamp.

The rose 3D sticker is from La Petit' and the inner mat is from Creative Memories.   Their vintage papers matched up exactly in coloring!  I just LOVE this paper and the way this card turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderfully blessed day!

Wyatt's 1st B-day layout

Hello!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  I got to spend Friday night and Saturday at a crop here in town and it was a blast!!!  So relaxing and productive!  First I'm showing a layout I did of Wyatt's first birthday.  The original post of birthday decorations pictures is here,  I used the decorations to embellish the layout pages.
Mickey was cut with the "Fit to Page option.  He was used to "hold" one end of the birthday banner.

"Wyatt is 1" was cut with Pooh Font set.  The border was made with the border feature on Mickey Mouse and Friends, cut 3 times and mounted on a simple red strip that was embossed with the Cuttlebug Circles folder. The background paper is from a disney paper & embellishment book.
Pluto had the other end of the banner tied to his tail!  He's also cut with the "fit to page" feature.

The rest of the characters were table decorations and cut at 4"  (I think).  Aren't they cute!?!
This sentiment stamp is from Pink by Design and I added some doodling around it.  These layouts were a lot of fun and went together pretty quickly since the decorations were already put together.  I've had them on my workdesk for a year, so it was time to get them in the book and off my desk!!!

Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and have spent some time with God today.

Hubby's Birthday Card

Hello!  Happy Birthday honey!!!  He's a real tough hombre' in my book.  Fighting a terrible disease, aggressive Rheumatoid Arthritis, he still works everyday and is coaching our granddaughter's basketball team in our Upward program!   My favorite cowboy!!!

Here is the card I made for him:

This is the first time I've tried this type of card and I really thought it was fun.  Folded it is a standard A2 card.
The cardstock is from my scraps and the patterned paper is from My Minds Eye.

The font and the ropes are cut from the Old West cartridge.

The cow skull sticker was bought at Hobby Lobby ( I don't know the company) and the horseshoes, hat and boot stickers are from Creative Memories.

I enjoyed making the card and he liked it, so overall I call it a success! :0)  Thanks for stopping in!

Less Is More Week 50 Challenge

So last week I entered a card in the Less Is More challenge and really didn't even think about what I was doing.  It totally didn't qualify as "Less".  So this week I'm trying to do better!  The challenge is one layer cards with birds.  So here is my submission:

The bird stamp is an acrylic spring set I got at Hobby Lobby.  I can't remember the name!  The sentiment is from Pink By Design's "Simply Everything" set.  I drew in the music notes.  The ribbon is a scrap from my stash.  I wanted a little softer look around the edges of the stamp, so I inked up a cotton ball and rubbed it around the image.

I think this one is better suited to the challenge rules!  Sorry for messing up last week, ladies!  But your comments were very sweet.

I'm also entering this card over at Do You Stack Up.

PK Flower Notecards

I made some notecards for my co-workers with these cute Peacy Keen flower stamps, colored with Crayola Colored Pencils.

I stamped a similar flower on the envelopes.  The stamp is from an old foam set in my stash.

The sentiments are from Studio G.
I just love these flowers, they're adorable!  I'm entering these in the Peachy Keen link-up party

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Chill!

Well, we have really had a mild winter so far here in SW Missouri!  We have only had a skiff of snow and a few days of really cold weather.  Personally I kind of like some snow, especially if I don't have to drive in it.   I usually build a snowman with my granddaughters, but I don't think I'll be building one this year!  So I found a few challenges that call for snow or snowmen.  Here's a fun little card I made to "build" my snowman for this winter!

The patterned paper is from "The Basics"  stack from Hobby Lobby.  The red strip is a scrap I embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder and I used a Creative Memories corner rounder on the right side.

This little guy is from Santa's Village Imagine cartridge, cut at 3" with all the layers.  I added a little clear glitter glue for some sparkly highlights.
The sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design, "Simply Everything" set and the balloon it's on is a cut that comes with the Imagine at 1 1/4".

What do you think?  I hope you like it.  I appreciate your visit and hope you have a great week!

Liebster Blog Award!

I have a blog award I want to share with you!  Tanya from Generation Promise was so sweet to honor me with the "Liebster award!  Thank you Tanya!  “Liebster” is a German word meaning dearest, beloved or favorite, and the Liebster Award is sort of a chain letter among bloggers that’s intended to showcase exceptional up-and-coming blogs (typically, those with 200 or fewer followers). Now, there’s no evaluation committee or formal award process for the Liebster, but in a way it’s even nicer – it’s recognition that a peer has noticed and appreciated your hard work.

Here are the rules:

Choose 5 up and coming blogs of fewer than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.

Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

Post the award on your blog. Link back to the blogs you have given the Liebster to so everyone else can pay them a visit.

Primarily Purple Challenge card

Hello!  I hope you are having a good day!  I'm enjoying the fact the I've gotten another card done that I really like!  lol
The challenge over at Less is More is Primarily Purple.  I chose one of my favorite digi stamps from Designed 2 Delight and colored the flowers purple.
The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio and the punch is Martha Stewart lace border punch.  I just love that punch!!!

I added 4 brads from my stash, some rhinestones in the flowers from The Paper Studio and I-Rock gems in the lace border punch.  The digi is printed on white paper, which seemed to stand out too much from the cream colored bacground of the patterned paper.  So I inked the edges in purple, smeared the stamp pad a little around the sides, and then applied purple chalk over the whole paper to tone down the white a little bit.
A little pop-dotting to add some dimension...

And a nice sentiment stamp from Pink by Design to complete the inside.  What do you think?  You like?  I hope so!
Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Less Is More - Predominantly Purple
Designed 2 Delight - Guest Designer Challenge
Whimsical Wednesday - Border Challenge
Card Patterns - sketch challenge

First Challenge of 2012 at My Sheri Crafts!

Hello!  We are back!!!! It's time for the first challenge of 2012 over at My Sheri Crafts!  The theme is "Time For Change", create a card or project with a clock on it.

I used a digi from Whoopsi Daisy, sheet 320 for my card.  I colored this cutie  with Crayola colored pencils.  Then added silver clock cut-outs from the Old West cartridge, sized to fit the digi on my Gypsy.  The background cut is from Paper Lace and the sentiment is from Gypsy Wanderings.

The silver paper adds lots of shine!  This paper is from Die Cuts With a View and the flower and brad are from my stash.
The patterned paper is from Basic Grey

I hope you like the card.  I enjoyed making it, but now it's time for you to get to work on your project!  The winner of the challenge gets to be Guest Designer for the next challenge and it just might be YOU!  Link up your designs...the clocks are ticking!! ;-)

Be sure to keep an eye out for news of new challenge ideas that may be coming your way from My Sheri this year!

Ice Skate card from scraps

I sat down at my craft table yesterday wanting to make something, but no idea what.  I began to pick up some scraps to put away and realized they could work together pretty well.  Then I remembered a challenge this week to use the ice skate from the Winter Woodland cartridge.  I put it all together and Voila'!
The card measures 5 1/2" x 4 3/4".  The background paper is some I bought a couple of years ago on the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby.  There was no lable.  The embossed piece was a preformed card that I didn't get the folder on straight when I was making a Christmas card.   So I cut it up to use.  The folder is the Cuttlebug snowflakes.  The silver cutout you will see again in the next post.  The paper is from Die Cuts With a View, Textures and Patterns stack.  I cut this in 3 sizes to determine what I wanted for my card for this weeks My Sheri Crafts challenge.  It's a beautiful cut from Paper Lace, "Lace 2" feature.  This one is cut at 4" with a few I-Rock gems added.  I used glitter paper for the skate (cut at 2 1/2"), but didn't get a picture that shows the sparkle.  I cut the skate a 2nd time from the silver paper and just used the blade and the bow.

The "Grace" stamp is  Stampabilities and actually says "God's Grace" but I used a marker to only ink up "Grace".  The skate is pop-dotted, the edges are inked with Royal Blue and the inside is finished out with a strip of the blue patterned paper on a strip of the silver paper (scraps of my scraps!)

I hope you like it, I was pleased with how it turned out.  And it cleaned up my table a little more!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back in a little bit for the new My Sheri Crafts challenge.  You'll see some great projects from the team again this week!
