A Stitch In Time-Creative Craft Challenges

Hello!  I'm trying to get back on schedule and back into my crafting groove as it's been a bit of a struggle the past few months.  I lost my Dad in February, in the middle of our Basketball and Cheerleading season at work.  Once we got the season over with, then I got to work on settling Mom & Dad's estate, which still isn't over.  Then we got the estate auction scheduled and spent weeks boxing up all their things, while also having Summer Daycamp at work.  Now both of those are over and I'm having a yard sale this weekend that I promised my husband I would do to clean out the garage/storage/closets.....

Anyway....the challenge at Creative Craft Challenges this week is "Stitch In Time".  I did get the chance to make this card with a couple of cute images from our sponsor
They were generous enough to give us a few digi stamps to work with and I combined 2 of them.

I freely admit that my faux stitching by hand is just as straight and even as my machine stitching in real life!  :)
But my coloring didn't turn out too bad!  I used my Spectrum Noir markers and the stamp is from K Andrews.  The papers are from my stash and I don't know whose they are.

This stamp is from Hero Arts and the stitching is all done with metallic gel pens.  The stamps are inked with Studio G chalk ink.

Come on over and join us with some stitching!  See you there!

Spoil Yourself - My Sheri Crafts Challenge

Do you ever run a's day behind?  I am today!  Yesterday was the start of a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts, but we had our family camping trip this weekend and I wasn't able to get my post ready and scheduled, so here I am....one day late!

This time around, we are recognizing our country's birthday by making Birthday Cards!  A super easy one this time, don't you think?

I had printed off this cute little pre-colored fairy digi stamp from The Paper Shelter to use on another blog challenge, but ran out of time to make the card. I was getting ready for my parent's estate auction and didn't have any spare time to craft, so missed a couple of my challenge commitments.  Very thankful to have understanding teamies on all my design teams!!!

I cut the image out with the largest of Fancy Ovals from Spellbinders, then cut the window in the card with a smaller size.  A tag from Spellbinders, stamp from Pink By Design, lace border punch from Martha Stewart and flowers from The Paper Shelter.  On the large pink flower I added a small mirror circle from my stash and brads to the other flowers.

Inside will say "Indulge Yourself", but I don't have that done yet either  (insert embarrassed smile here!)

Oh well, I've had a stressful few weeks, but it's going to get better now!  Oh!  We had a WONDERFUL camping weekend with my family!  Swimming, kayaking, rented a pontoon boat and took the kids tubing....FUN!!

Now it's time for you to head to your craft room and join in the fun at MSC with your birthday cards!  See you there!

Camping Card - My Sheri Crafts Challenge!

Hello all and welcome to my blog today!  I have just a quick post today.

It's time for another challenge at My Sheri Crafts and this week we are celebrating Summer solstice with projects that represent your summer evenings.  Here's mine:

For the past 3 or 4 years, my immediate family has been getting together for a weekend campout and I love those evenings around the campfire just talking and spending time with my brothers, sister, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

I used the Old West cartridge for the fire, Potpourri basket for the tent and grass, and the Gypsy Wanderings for "Summer".   Then I sponged some orange ink over it to soften up the picture and give it all that rosy sunset glow.  Hope you will join us this week!

God bless you this week!

Simple Graduation Cards

Hi!  Tonight I'm making a quick post with a couple of simple graduation cards I made.    I used the cut from Everyday Paper Dolls and a couple of metal brads from my stash.  The cards are for two of my nephews and are done in their school colors.

I used Spellbinders dies for this one and gel pens for accents on both cards.  Easy peasy!

I'm entering the first card here:

Time for a Throwdown! Strawberry Mouse Card

Hellooooooo you crafty bloggers!  It's Tuesday and time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown!  This week we are sponsored by   and our theme is to include EMBOSSING of any type.

I made a card using Robyn's Fetish "Strawberry Mouse":

I added a little border strip with a Martha Stewart border punch.  When I decided to add this strip, I just grabbed a sheet of white paper laying on my worktable that I thought "felt" really nice.  I turned it over and it was the cover sheet from a package of white cardstock!  It cut really well so I also used it for the sentiment circle! So I did a little bit of recycling, too!  :)  The medallion has a Spellbinders scalloped circle and the sentiment is a freebie from Scrapalicious.

I colored the digi with Spectrum Noirs and mounted him on a scrap embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss dot folder.

Here's a peek of the inside that I finished out with a strip of the gingham paper and a strip of the embossed red cardstock.

OK, now we want to see your embossing!  Get on over to Tuesday Throwdown and check out the great projects from the rest of the team and then join in the fun!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you over at TT!
