Glittery Snowflakes & Ornaments

Hello again!  Happy Sunday!  Today I want to share some decorations I have in my kitchen window.  I had originally planned this post for My Sheri Craft design team post, but I had a really hard time getting good pictures!  I love having sparkly things hanging in my kitchen windows as they are on the south side of the house and really catch some nice sun and put off LOTS on sparkle in the room.  However, when I took pictures during the day, you see the tree outside the window and the snowflakes just disappeared in the branches!
So here are some nighttime pics.  The snowflakes are cut from those plastic sheets for overhead projectors.  Remember those?  From the days before PowerPoint?  Well I have a whole box of them to use up!  The cuts are from Joys of the season and Christmas seasonal cartridge.  (It works best to use a multi cut of 2).  Then I sprayed them with Photo Mount and added glitter, doing this on both sides.  After they dry completely, I tied them up with sewing thread, which doesn't show up during the day.
They are really pretty and sparkly!  Try to picture these picking up some sunshine. :)

These are the ornaments up close.  They are made by coating the inside with liquid floor wax then adding glitter.  You can find a good instructional video here.  Then add words cut from white vinyl.  I've made lots of these as they are really easy, super shiney and the glitter all stays inside!  I recently saw a video using spray adhesive inside instead of the liquid floor wax.  I'm going to give that a try, too.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas Season!  Just remember to keep a good focus on the true
Reason for the Season - the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!  We had a solo sung at church today about "He had the birthday and we got the gift".  What a beautiful and oh so true song!  Have a blessed day!
