Birdhouse New Home Card

Howdy, Howdy!  Today I have a card for Tuesday Throwdown, where our challenge theme is "New Home".  We are sponsored by My Grafice and I've used a flower digi from them for my card.

The birdhouse cut is from Cindy Loo and I've welded the card base with my Gyspy.  The "New Home" cut is from Home Accents.  It actually was just "Home" and I added "new" to it.  The My Grafico flower digi is colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  The paper was a scrap left over from other projects and the trip was a gift from one of my DT friends.  I stamped "Congratulations" inside with another little strip of the trim.  Fun little card!

Now head over to Tuesday Throwdown and check out all the great inspiration there and get creating!  Hope to see you there!

Praying for You Card

I'm back with another one!  I had a pretty productive day yesterday!  My husband and I both teach Sunday School, so both of today's posts are for people in our classes.  He asked me to make a card for a man in his class who is fighting a brain tumor.  Here is the card:

The card base is from dark brown cardstock.  The patterened papers are from Die Cuts With a View.

I made this sentiment on my Gypsy, welding the shadow cuts of the letters.  I used just a touch of glitter around the edges.  Since the card is for a man, I didn't want the card to be blingy, but a little sparkle never hurt anybody! :)

This beautiful butterfly cut is from Home Accents.

The patterned paper has an antique look with brown distressing, so I distressed the edges of the blue cardstock to match.
Tim wanted everyone in the class to be able to sign it, so I finished out both sides of the inside.

I hope you and our friend both like the card.  Please let me know what you think!  I'm also entering this card in Flutter By Wednesday's challenge.

Etched Wedding Gift

I needed a gift for a wedding shower for a good friend's daughter.  I knew I wanted to give her something nice, but not too fluffy and fancy.  So I etched a plain hurricane globe with a nice, but fairly simple cut.  The cut is from Home Accents, cut at 2.25" high and 5" wide (it's originally a horizontal cut, but I applied it upright) I cut the stencil from a scrap piece of vinyl and applied it at a bit of an angle.

I always have a hard time getting the etching to show up well  in pictures.  The globe, candle and glass gems all came from Wal-Mart.  The gems and candle can easily be changed out for any season or occasion and the etching design will go with just about anything.

Then, I made a card/gift tag:
This is a really simple card.  I used the Christmas glitter matstack I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby last year.  The hearts are from the Wedding seasonal cartridge cut at 2" in silver metallic cardstock and double matted with a scrap of white glitter cardstock and black metallic cardstock.  The ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  The wedding is black and white, so I kept the color theme on this card.  The thin black ribbon on the white bow is actually black with white polka dots (that's the only black ribbon I had!) so I just turned it upside down.  Instead of applying this to a folded card base, I just wrote my greeting on the back side.  I liked how elegant it turned out and has TONS of sparkle!  Hope you like it, too.  Thanks for stopping by!
