Baby Congrats Easel Card

It's Thursday and that means a new challenge at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday!  We are sponsored this week by
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LeeHIllustrations

Challenges in our Twisted Thursday group are always Anything Goes with an Optional twist!  This week the twist is "Make an Easel Card".

Lee generously gave us this digi to used and I made a card for my niece:

I wanted the teddy bear to look fuzzy, so I used the "dot"technique with Spectrum Noir markers.

The scalloped oval is a cut from the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge, then the other ovals were cut with  the Creative Memories system.  The airplane and banner are from the "New Arrival" cartridge and the sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design.  I love that stamp because it's a pretty script and small enough for these little cuts.

Do you ever find that you've bought something you were just sure you would use a lot, so you bought several colors of it?  Well, several years ago those little safety pins in white, pink, blue, green and yellow......this is the first time I've used any of them!   Oh well.....I've got 'em if I need 'em!

Anyway, come on over to The Outlawz and see all the great inspiration from the other Designers and join us for a chance at some great prizes!

Star Accordion Mini Scrapbook

Hi!  It's time for a new challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown and this week we have a recipe challenge!  The recipe is 1 Image, 2 Papers and 3 Flowers.  We are sponsored by "A Day For Daisies" and I got to use this sweet image "A Gift From the Stars" and I made a mini album with the fun "Star Accordion" technique.  One of my friends bought one of these albums at a yard sale and gave it to me to "figure out how that was done and make one!"  :)  So I figured it out, made one, then looked through mini-album pictures until I found it so I knew what it was called!  The actual pattern uses 3  12x12 papers, but I only used 2 and made an album for a baby shower gift for my niece:

This is the view when you first open it up. You can only get 2 4x6 pictures on one side as the rest of the squares have a fold in them.  You could put smaller pictures on those if you wanted.

These two tags have been in my stash since I first started scrapping!

These two cute animals cuts are from Crictut's "New Arrival" cartridge

This is the view when you turn it over.  I wanted her to be able to add  a couple more 4x6 pictures.

This digi stamp is from Digi Darla.

The labels are preloaded cuts on the Cricut Imagine.  Papers are from "Nana's Kids,Baby Boy" paper pad.  The stamps are rubber stamps (on labels) are from Stampendous and Stampabilities.

Sorry this is such a picture heavy post, but there's a lot to look at! We are having a "Scrapbook Baby Shower" in a couple of weeks.  Emily isn't a big paper crafter, so we will be making layout pages for her so all she has to do is add pictures!  Now...shhhhh....no one tell her about this album yet!  :)

But DO head on over the Tuesday Throwdown and check out all the great inspiration there, then join in the fun!

I've entered this project here:

Catch The Bug - Anything Goes
Crafts for Eternity - something digital
Fantabulous Cricut - mix & match
Love To Create - flowers and stitching
Clear It Out - fancy folds, stash item-punches or dies
Craft Room Challenge - something old (tags die cuts), something new (paper
                                   pad, album technique)

Prince Charming Layout - My Sheri Crafts Challenge #89

Hello!  I hope you had a wonderful 4th Of July and are still having a fun and safe holiday weekend!  I'm glad you took a few minutes to stop by and visit!

Today we have another new and fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  It's "Picture This" and we are creating a card or project inspired by this picture:
Picture This!

Doesn't that picture just set your mind running with ideas?  Here is a layout I made:

I love the look of gingham checks!  They speak picnic, baby, springtime.....so many fun things!  But I decided it was time to get a start on layouts of my grandson.  I mean, he's 2 1/2 now and I haven't done even one!

These gingham papers are from Bo Bunny and The Paper Studio. The rick-rack ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the rick-rack card stock border has been in my stash for years!

Both of my granddaughters have "princess" layouts, so naturally I needed a "prince" layout!   This cut is fromthe "B is For Boy" cartridge

This cute little elephant is from the "New Arrival" cartridge.  The fun dotted buttons have also been in my stash for a long time, but I think I got them at Hobby Lobby also.

So now it's time for you to look at the inspiration photo again and hop to it!  Be sure to check out all my Design Team sister's great work and let them know how much you love it!  I can't wait to see your creations!

Cowboy Baby Shower Decorations

Hello again and welcome to another challenge at My Sheri Crafts!  Today our challenge is titled "Oh I Love America!"  It's time to celebrate our freedom so let's see your Patriotic cards or other projects, or use Red, White & Blue.

I titled the challenge from a song I heard at my granddaughter's Veteran's Day program a couple of years ago.  I was going to do a layout with pictures from the program for this challenge, but life kind of got in the way these past couple of weeks and scrapbooking just didn't happen!  My sweet father just had his 90th Birthday on the 18th so we had a BIG party on Father's Day.  He's having a really rough time health wise, but that day was a very good day.  Thank you Lord for that one really good day!  Since then he has started dialysis and had two ER visits, is currently fighting a bad infection and just really struggling.  My heart hurts for him and I would appreciate any and all prayers for him.

So anyway, I had an order for baby shower decorations with a cowboy theme.  When I finished it, I realized I had primarily used Red, White and Blue and what's more American than the Great American Cowboy?  So it qualifies for this challenge!

First we have the diaper cake:

The topper is cut from A Child's Year and mounted with pop dots onto Martha Stewart paper.  The paper is 8x8 bandanna print and I trimmed out the center of the print.
Each layer is banded with wood print paper from The Paper Studio.  The bands are decorated with cuts from A Child's Year and Old West, mounted on punched squares of the Martha Stewart bandanna print papers.

Next we have the banner!

The onesies are from the New Arrival cartridge and the bandannas, hats and letters are all from the Old West cartridge.  I used the Gyspsy to get the bandannas sized to fit the onesies.
The "It's a Boy" ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  I threaded it through the detail slits cut in the sleeves of the onesies.
So that wasn't too much of a stretch to say it qualifies for this challenge, right?  :)
I hope you like the decorations.  They were so fun to work on!   Now it's your turn to join the fun and head over to My Sheri Crafts!

Simple Blue Birthday Card

Hello again on another beautiful day!  I have another birthday card to complete a few challenges.  This one actually works for two different sketch challenges.  Here is the sketch from Less Is More

And here is the sketch from Card Patterns

And here is my card:

The card is cut from New Arrivals card feature at 5" with the cut out hidden on my Gypsy.

The 4 squares are punched with a Paper Studios punch and the brown square is cut with scallop scissors.  The buttons are from Wal-Mart and the cake charm is from my stash.
The sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up, Afterthoughts set.
Sorry this pic is so blurry.  The inside is finished out with another scallop edged square.  Everything is inked with Teddy Bear brown ink.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Less Is More - sketch challenge
Birthday Sundaes - Buttons
Card Patterns - sketch challenge

Be sure to leave a comment to enter my giveaway of My Memories Digital Software HERE.

Thanks for coming by today!

Texas Longhorn theme baby shower!?!

I have a great friend who is having a baby boy! Congrats Curtis & Barbie!!! I had told Barbie I would help with her baby shower decorations back when she first told me she was pregnant. I was a little surprised, though, when I found out last month that she wanted to use Texas Longhorns in the decorations. I hadn't thought about that. But, it got the imagination and creativity going! So here are some pictures of what I came up with:
These "diaper bags" were for the nuts and placed on the tables. They were cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. The "toys" inside are from New Arrival.

The banner flags are from Stand And Salute, the onesies and animals are from New Arrival and the longhorn head is from Old West. I had to cut the whole steer and behead the poor things!

"Onesie Confetti"

And the "Diaper Cake"! Who needs a stork when you have a Longhorn?
:-)

I had LOTS of help with this from my granddaughters, Kaylee and Lexi. Thanks girls! I couldn't have gotten it all done without your help! Oh, and Barbie really liked the decorations!

Thanks for stopping by. This week I'm working on albums for some kids at a camp for abused and neglected children.

Baby Boy Card

I had so much fun making this card!  I think this was the first time a card came to mind and it turned out just like I wanted it to!

The sketch for the layout is from the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge.   The paper is from K&Company.  It's and 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" pad so I just took a sheet and folded it in half to make the card 8 1/2 by 4 1/4". The squares on front are cut at 1 1/2" and 1 3/4".  The baby is from Everyday Paper Dolls, cut at 1 1/2", the tag is from Bags, Tags, Boxes and More, and all other cuts are from New Arrival. The moon and onezie are also cut and 1 1/2", the feet at 1"  and the phrase at 3/4".  I'll be entering this card in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge and I think I'll submit it to Provo Craft for a project spotlight.  Wish me luck and thanks for stopping by!
