Blue Christmas (In July!)

Hellooooo!!  I'm so glad you stopped by today!  It's HOT here in southwest Missouri, so when I saw several challenges with "Christmas In July" I thought it sounded really good!  I had so much fun with this card.  This little girl from Whoopsi Daisy is so cute!

The light blue 5x7 card base is from Wal-Mart and embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder.  The ribbon is also from Wal-Mart; the pearls are Premier Quality and the rose was in my stash.  The label is cut from Lacey Labels and the sentiment was computer generated.  Isn't she adorable?  I colored her with colored pencils and pop-dotted her on a larger cut of the same label from Lacy Labels.  This label is cut from white glitter paper.
The "fur" on her outfit is also glittered.  I tried to get a good picture to show all the sparkle.

The label is also pop-dotted.  Lots of sparkle, texture and dimension on this card and except for the card base, everything is from scraps!

The inside is finished out with another cut of the same label and a bit of ribbon.  The stamp is from Stampabilities.
Well, I felt a little cooler while I was making this card, but it's just as hot as it was before! :)  I hope you like this project, please leave me a comment or two!  I enjoy hearing from you!

Breast Cancer Card

As I'm sure you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Looking through a few challenge blogs, I found a couple requiring pink, some requiring breast cancer awareness, one requiring swirls and one requiring a ribbon loop. This card just all came together in my mind and it turned out just like I hoped.  But before I get to the card, I would ask that you please remember my friend in prayer.  She just found out she has breast cancer and meets with the surgeon Tuesday, Oct. 4 to find out how extensive it is and what the treatment plan is.  This card is for her.

The card base is from Hobby Lobby.  I used my Cuttlebug and a Quickutz swirls folder to emboss the front, then chalked it with pink.  The flowers are some I bought from a friend who was selling all of her supplies and all edges are inked with pink.

The tag was cut from Storybook,  the pink layer at 2" and the white at 1 3/4".  The sentiment I created on my computer.
Inside is the same tag cut at 3 1/2" and 3 1/4".
I hope you like the card, I'm pretty pleased with it.  I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:
My Sheri Crafts - Think Pink
Link Up For Pink - They actually asked me to link up! :)
CASual Fridays - Ribbon loops
Do You Stack Up - swirls
More Than Favors - Breast Cancer

Thanks for stopping by and again, please remember my friend in your prayers!

Skater Dude!

Today I have a really fun card.  My grandson is only 17 months old, so I've only made girl stuff up until now!  This digi stamp from Designed 2 Delight  helped my kickstart my "boy card" creativity!

The card base is from Hobby Lobby, 4 x 5 1/2 size.  The patterned papers are from The Paper Studio, the buttons were from the sewing section at Wal-Mart, I made the sentiment on my computer, inked everything with Royal Blue ink and pop dotted the image.  I colored the image with Dual Brush Pens I just bought at Hobby Lobby.  I didn't use the Cricut at all.  How unusual for me!  I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

I hope you like the card, and thanks for stopping by!

Fairytale Birthday Card

I haven't been able to get anything made and posted in awhile!  Today I have a card made with another Designed 2 Delight digi stamp.

The card base is 5 x 6 1/2 from Hobby Lobby.  The paper is from The Paper Studio "The Basics" stack.  The digistamp is called "Flutterby Fairy"; scalloped ovals are cut from Create a Critter; the embossing is Cuttlebug Swiss Dots; border punch is from Fiskars and the ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  I printed the sentiment on the computer, colored the stamp with colored pencils, added a little inking and pop-dotting and there you go!  A Fairytale Birthday.  I'll be entering this in the following challenges:

Thanks for coming by!

Mother's Day Card

Here is a Mother's Day card made with a digi stamp called "Ladybug Balancing Act" from Designed 2 Delight challenge.  This blog will give you a free digi stamp each week if you use it to make a project and post it to their challenge.  Very generous!

This is for my mother-in-law, who has 3 sons.
I can only imagine the scary situations a mom of 3 boys has come upon. :)
                                I love pop dots!
Little, simple finishing touches inside make a huge difference.

The card base is from Hobby Lobby; base paper is handmade paper from The Paper Studio; ladybug is cut from Doodle Charms; the sentiment tag cut from Gypsy Wanderings; the sun is from Life is a Beach with the face hidden with the Gypsy and a Peach Keen stamp instead; ribbon is from Michaels and the sentiment is computer generated.

I'll be entering this in these challenges:

When Life Brings Rain...

Dance in the Puddles!

This card base is from Hobby Lobby, the cardstock is some I've had in my stash forever, the paper flowers are also from my "had this forever" stash and I folded them in quarters to get the shape, size and fluffiness I was looking for.  The ribbon is from Michaels and the little cloud stamp is from Studio G.  The little girl is cut from Everyday Paper Dolls @ 1 1/2", the puddle and grass are from Create a Critter.  The sentiment is my own and computer generated.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:
The Paper Variety
Get Inspired with Chatterscene April Showers Challenge

"Birthdays Are Just a Number" card

Here is a card I made a for a friend before I had a Cricut.

He's a team roper, so I added the "lariat" made with a scrap of twine that was used to tie something I had bought.  I had some left over ovals cut with the Creative Memories system.  The numbers are from a punch set and the sentiment is computer generated.  I used the "direct inking" techinique which is just patting your ink pad all over the  paper.

Very simple card and  good reminder that I don't have to have a lot of tools to make a card......but I sure like to play with 'em!

Thanks for stopping by!
