Quilled Valentine for My Sheri Crafts #103

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are having a great weekend!  Welcome to another My Sheri Crafts Challenge!  This week we are celebrating Valentine's Day, "showing some love to the ones we love"!

I started this card with a scrap that I had cut a heart out of for another project (cut with George & Basic shapes).  It grew from there!
If you've followed by blog much, you know I've just learned quilling lately.  Flowers seem to be the thing I've practiced on most, so I thought I better use some of them!

The fun heart paper is from The Paper Studio.  The flourish is a Ornamental Iron cut, but I trimmed off the bottom part of it.
The sentiment font is Pooh Font, sized and welded with my Gypsy.  These flowers on the inside are some quilled stickers I've had in my stash for a looooong time!

I don't know why, but it seemed like I really struggled with valentine cards this year.  I put this one together, but was stuck as far as a sentiment.  So I let it sit for a couple of days, then went back and the sentiment came so easy!  Now, if that will just work for the other card I've started, I'll have all 3 grandkid's cards made!

Your turn!  Start showing some love and share your valentine's with us over at My Sheri Crafts!  Be sure to check out the fantastic inspiration of the rest of the team!

First card with Quilling!

Hello!  Happy mid-week to you!  I've been learning Quilling and flowers seem to be the easiest thing for me to make so far.  :)  Over at Just Rite Inspiration blog, the current challenge uses some beautiful colors and I kind of wanted to join in, so here's what I made:

It's not nearly as elaborate as most of their cards, but I just love the colors and their sentiment stamps are just wonderful.

I tried three or four shots to get this close up and just can't seem to get one without any shadow anywhere, so this is the best one.

Not too bad for a first shot at quilling, do you think?  Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know hear from you!  Have a wonderful rest of the week!
