Just Rite Friday Challenge

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!!  I'm really looking forward to this weekend.  Tomorrow I get to spend the day with my granddaughters and Mother In Law at Silver Dollar City!  Girl Time!

This afternoon I completed a card I had started a few days ago.  I decided I needed to use up some things I had laying on my work desk so I picked up a strip of little ballerinas I had printed on vinyl right after I got my Imagine.  These are from the "Santa's Village" cartidge, but I didn't have the settings right for it to cut through the vinyl, so it just kind of scratched the surface.  So I cut one out and stuck it on some scraps of pink and violet handmade paper and added a flower from my stash.  Well, it still needed something to make it pop.  The Just Rite Friday challenge this week is to use colors from the opposite sides of the color wheel.  When I added the yellow, it was just what this card needed!

The sentiment is a Just Rite stamp from the Old Friends set.  I had the violet flower already glued down and found a yellow one to add to it.   The right side looked kind of blank, so I simply added some yellow metal brads and it gave it a little more balance.

I just love this sentiment.  It's a 2" circle stamp, edges inked with violet ink and mounted with pop-dots.
What do you think?  Not too bad for a messed up cut and scraps, huh?  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Let's Chill!

Well, we have really had a mild winter so far here in SW Missouri!  We have only had a skiff of snow and a few days of really cold weather.  Personally I kind of like some snow, especially if I don't have to drive in it.   I usually build a snowman with my granddaughters, but I don't think I'll be building one this year!  So I found a few challenges that call for snow or snowmen.  Here's a fun little card I made to "build" my snowman for this winter!

The patterned paper is from "The Basics"  stack from Hobby Lobby.  The red strip is a scrap I embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder and I used a Creative Memories corner rounder on the right side.

This little guy is from Santa's Village Imagine cartridge, cut at 3" with all the layers.  I added a little clear glitter glue for some sparkly highlights.
The sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design, "Simply Everything" set and the balloon it's on is a cut that comes with the Imagine at 1 1/4".

What do you think?  I hope you like it.  I appreciate your visit and hope you have a great week!

Santa Shaped Card

Hello!  Well....are you ready?  Christmas is almost here!  I think I might have all my gifts bought and just a few more to make.  I really worked on Christmas Cards Friday night and I think this one is my favorite:

I cut a 4" scalloped circle from Lacy Labels then looped the shiney green ribbon around and through the scallops.  The ribbon came from Wal-Mart.  I then print and cut a 3" Santa from Christmas Village and used pop-dots to mount him to a  3 1/4" circle cut from The Paper Studio Christmas stack.

The card base is two 4" circles from George & Basic shapes that I welded together on my Gypsy.

The sentiment stamp is from Stampabilities.  I inked the stamp with Markers so I could make the holly leaves green.

I hope you like the card, it was fun and I love how it turned out.  I'll post a few more cards in a bit.  Merry Christmas!

First "Santa's Village" card

Hello!  On an earlier post I mentioned that I had ordered a couple of Imagine cartridges that I really wanted and I finally got a chance to spend a little time using one!  Some good friends of ours invited us over for a Christmas open house this weekend and I wanted to send them a Thank You card.  Since she had several ceramic Santas decorating her home, I thought a Santa card would be perfect.
This was made using the Santa's Village Imagine cartridge cut at 4 1/2".  To make it a shaped card I traced around the cutout with a little tool called "Quick Cutter Disc Set" from Puzzlemates.  I then cut it out on the top fold and drew around the edge of the card with my ZIG metallic pen.  It really adds some shine!  The sentiment stamp is from StampCraft in gold ink.  That didn't show up very well, so I went over it with the ZIG pen.
The inside is another cut of the sleigh but I used the no color pattern option to get a blank piece.  I expected it to be just a white cutout, but it printed it in a nice cream color that matched perfectly.  That machine is smarter than me!  I inked the edges of it with a gold stamp pad that I have had so long I have no idea where it came from.  It's one of the first stamp pads I ever got and it has no name on it.

I added a few Imaginisce gems with my I-Rock to add a little bling (and to cover up a couple of pen slips!) See all that detail in the Santa?  Is it any wonder I was just CRAVING this cartridge?  I love the vintage look of the images!  I'm really pleased with how the card turned out and I hope my friends will be, too.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a great week!
