Etched Wedding Gift

I needed a gift for a wedding shower for a good friend's daughter.  I knew I wanted to give her something nice, but not too fluffy and fancy.  So I etched a plain hurricane globe with a nice, but fairly simple cut.  The cut is from Home Accents, cut at 2.25" high and 5" wide (it's originally a horizontal cut, but I applied it upright) I cut the stencil from a scrap piece of vinyl and applied it at a bit of an angle.

I always have a hard time getting the etching to show up well  in pictures.  The globe, candle and glass gems all came from Wal-Mart.  The gems and candle can easily be changed out for any season or occasion and the etching design will go with just about anything.

Then, I made a card/gift tag:
This is a really simple card.  I used the Christmas glitter matstack I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby last year.  The hearts are from the Wedding seasonal cartridge cut at 2" in silver metallic cardstock and double matted with a scrap of white glitter cardstock and black metallic cardstock.  The ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  The wedding is black and white, so I kept the color theme on this card.  The thin black ribbon on the white bow is actually black with white polka dots (that's the only black ribbon I had!) so I just turned it upside down.  Instead of applying this to a folded card base, I just wrote my greeting on the back side.  I liked how elegant it turned out and has TONS of sparkle!  Hope you like it, too.  Thanks for stopping by!

Pumpkin Digi Stamp Card

It's time for another Designed 2 Delight digistamp challenge.  This is the "Stitched Pumpkin" stamp.

This card measures 5 1/2" x 6".  I used textured cardstock for the base.  The orange mat is from some paper I bought a couple of years ago at Hobby Lobby in a clearance pack that had been opened.  I don't know the brand.  The green mat was a scrap (you can't see it in the picture but it has little tiny leaves embossed on it) and the twine was on a box of something I had ordered.

I colored the stamp with my Dual Brush Pens and used some glitter glue to add a little sparkle.  It's kind of hard to see, but there really is a lot of sparkle!  The buttons were also some I've had in my stash awhile.
The little stamp in the corner is from The Paper Studio and all edges were inked with Basil Leaf ink.

When I started this project, I really didn't know what I was going to do.  I didn't have a plan, but I think it all came together o.k. and the end result was pretty good.    I hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by!

I Won at Birthday Sundaes Challenge Blog!

Last week, after being too busy to get in much computer time, I was trying to catch up on the blogs I follow and see what challenges were going on.  When I looked at the Birthday Sundaes blog, I found that I had won and that night was my last chance to contact them to get the prize!   I was so excited!!!  I imediately emailed them at learned I had won $20 in merchandise from Circle B Enterprises!  I spent a LOT of time looking through her store and picking out stuff.  I didn't want to just use the free gift, I wanted to show my appreciation of her sponsorship by spending around $10 or so in addition to the $20 in free merchandise.  But her prices are so low, I shopped and shopped and shopped!  I got way more stuff than I expected.  Just look at all my goodies!
And in addition to all the things I ordered, Veronica included a couple of "Thank you for your order" items and a coupon for my next order!  WOO HOO!  Head on over to Circle B  and check it out!  Thanks again, Veronica, for your sponsorship and all the great goodies for me to play with!

Mouse & Cupcake Birthday Card

I got a chance to play along with the Designed2Delight digi stamp challenge again this week.  It's been a long time since I was able to get in on the fun.  Each week that you play along, you get a free digi stamp on Friday to use for the next challenge.  This week is the Cupcake Mouse.  Here is the card I came up with:
The "Party" stamp is from Studio G, the dragonfly is from my ages old stash.  The background paper is DCWV "Nana's Kids" stack.  I used Gypsy Wanderings to cut out the digi stamp in the cupcake shape.  I cut it at 3.5" and the shadow layer at 3.75" The shadow cut of the cupcake is pearlized paper from Colorbok.  The cute cupcake ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

I colored the picture first with colored pencils, then filled the "icing" with light pink glitter glue.  After it dried, I added dark pink glitter glue for the "sprinkles" and a small gem on her little flower.

The inside is cut from Lacy Labels.  I used my Gypsy to make it longer to fit the page, and I cut some of the cirles from the scrap piece left from the front to complete the look.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like the card.  Have a wonderful day!

Popsicle Birthday

Wow, its' HOT in SW Missouri!!!!  We are taking the RV (and the grandkids) to the local state park this weekend and boy am I ready!  I'm headed to the water, quickly!

I had a little time to spend in the craft room today and here is the card I made.
The more I looked at it, the more I thought the popsicle was kind of blah, so I decided to try out the Glossy Accents that I recently bought and never tried.  So then it became this:

I like that better!  But I do need to practice on getting it smooth.
This patterened paper is from Anna Griffin, Isabelle stack.  I love her double sided paper.  I cut a 4 1/4" x 12" piece, so it makes a 4 1/4 x 6" card.
I used pop-dots of course!

The popsicle is cut from Doodlecharms at 2 1/2" and I used a scrap of K & Co. paper.  The circle is from George & Basic Shapes at 2 3/4" and I used a scrap of glitter paper.  I wrote "Have A SWEET Birthday" around the circle with a American Craft Slick Writer.  Those are cool markers!  You can write on anything slick with them.

I finished out the inside with more scraps and of course all the edges of everything has been inked.

Texas Longhorn theme baby shower!?!

I have a great friend who is having a baby boy! Congrats Curtis & Barbie!!! I had told Barbie I would help with her baby shower decorations back when she first told me she was pregnant. I was a little surprised, though, when I found out last month that she wanted to use Texas Longhorns in the decorations. I hadn't thought about that. But, it got the imagination and creativity going! So here are some pictures of what I came up with:
These "diaper bags" were for the nuts and placed on the tables. They were cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. The "toys" inside are from New Arrival.

The banner flags are from Stand And Salute, the onesies and animals are from New Arrival and the longhorn head is from Old West. I had to cut the whole steer and behead the poor things!

"Onesie Confetti"

And the "Diaper Cake"! Who needs a stork when you have a Longhorn?
:-)

I had LOTS of help with this from my granddaughters, Kaylee and Lexi. Thanks girls! I couldn't have gotten it all done without your help! Oh, and Barbie really liked the decorations!

Thanks for stopping by. This week I'm working on albums for some kids at a camp for abused and neglected children.
