Black & White Wedding Card

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

Wow!  2014!!!!  How did that get here so fast?  I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed year!

We are ending the year with a new challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges, sponsored by

and our theme is Anything Goes!

I made this black and white wedding card.
The silhouette is from Wedding cartridge, mounted on a Spellbinders mat.

I created this sentiment in MS Word and hand cut the banner.  I love this black ribbon with a little shiny gold thread running through it!  I picked that up from Wal-Mart.

The flocked paper is from K & Co. and I added a little bling from Paper Studio.

This stamp is from Hero Arts.

There you go!  Now come on over and join us!

Poinsettia Card

Here's another Christmas card!  I really like black and red together, it just looks so sharp!
This poinsettia is from Beccy's Place, colored with Spectrum Noir markers and a little "fancy cutting".  I cut a circle from a scrap of some gold shimmer paper to mount onto a Spellbinder's cut.  The red paper is from  Paper Studio and I made a card base with black cardstock and finished it off with a bit of ribbon from Wal-Mart.  This card measure 4 1/4" square.

Thanks for stopping by!

Family Ornament

Hello!  It's a cold, wet Saturday afternoon here...a perfect day to be in the recliner with an afghan on my lap and blogging about crafts!

I wanted to share an ornament I made with an early picture of my parents.
Snowflake cut with Christmas solutions cartridge from clear plastic, both sides sprayed with adhesive and covered in royal blue glitter.  I have two pictures back to back on each side of the snowflake and it's all hung with clear beading line.  The pretty glitter ribbon came from Wal-Mart.  I added some white glitter and crystal snow.  The glitter quickly attached to the picture, so it really sparkles!

That's all I have for today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Baseball Card Layout

Just wanted to quickly share this layout I made to showcase my friend's baseball cards.  She bought these particular cards because they are her husband's cousin.  The baseball diamond is from Paper Dolls for Everyday; the team logo was downloaded from the internet; the player, glove and baseball are from Sports Mania.   Project measurements - 22 x 26"

To save the integrity of the original cards, I kept them in the plastic protectors they were in and made copies of the back side.  One of the cards she had two of, so instead of copying the backside I used foam dots on just the corners.

Monochromatic Sympathy card

I found this card in my picture files that I hadn't shared yet.  I made this one for a friend who lost her Grandpa this Fall.  Very simple, but I thought it came out pretty.

I used a Stampibilities background stamp on a scrap of paper in my stash.  The flower is three Paper Studio flowers held together with a brad from Bo Bunny.  I used a distressing tool on the edges of the paper, then inked it.  A white feather completes it.

The inside stamp is also from Stampabilites (I think!)  :0)
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi!  Today's challenge at Creative Craft Challenges2 is "White On White Christmas".  Here's my entry:

I used a Spellbinders  M-Bossibilities music embossing folder and added a little bit of white Stickles to highlight some spots.  The gem swirls are from Say It In Crystals.

I
The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a Spellbinder's die, then outlined with my silver paint pen.  The poinsettia is cut with the Christmas solutions cartridge.

This sentiment is a  Stampabilities rubber stamp and the snowflake/star is also from the Christmas solutions cartridge.

Razorback mirror

I found these great little 9"x 9" mirrors at Wal-Mart and decided they need to be etched!  I think I'll go back and pick up a few more!

It's really hard to get a good picture of a mirror without getting yourself in it!

On this one I used the Team Spirit cartridge for the hog and cut my vinyl stencil at 1 1/2".  Our Youth Minister (one of my bosses) is a huge Razorback fan and this is his Christmas gift.

Whew!  Another gift done!!!

Lil' Gingerbread Cookie

Hi!  Welcome to my blog today!  It's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and our theme is "Christmas Cookies" - use some type of baking item on your project (sprinkles, baking cup,  etc).  We are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish this week!

I used some mini baking cups on my card with RF's "Gingerbread Baby", colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

I pinched the center of the baking cups and twisted them just a little, hoping to make the stripes look a little more swirled to look like lollipops.  But I think they turned out to look more like flowers, so we'll go with that! :o)   I twisted some green twine from The Twinery for the stems (or sucker sticks if we go with the lollipop idea).
These fuzzy covered buttons were in my button box and matched the green edge of the baking cups exactly!

I also looked through my stash of die cuts leftover from other projects, experiments, etc. and found these label cuts and one of the snowflakes.  The snowflakes and the white label are cut from white glitter cardstock.  The labels are Spellbinders dies and the snowflakes are from the Christmas solutions cartridge.   The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, stamped with white ink and then heat embossed with crystal powder.

There you have it!  This is a fun challenge that had me thinking a bit to use something new.  Just what a challenge is supposed to do, right?  So come on over and join the fun at Tuesday Throwdown!

My Craft Area Overhaul

Well, for the past few years I've had a small crafting area in my unfinished basement.  As I went along I would add a table here, a shelving unit there, etc, etc.  I got so cramped and stuffed that (at my husbands strong encouraging) I decided it was time to remodel my area.  I wouldn't normally show these embarrassing "before" pictures, but you kind of have to see them to appreciate the "after" pics.  So here they are:

BEFORE

What a mess, huh?  So we went to a local auction and I scored two white cabinets for $17.50!  That's not each, that's total!  And the clean out process began!

AFTER

Aren't these great for less than $20????   What a score!!  I've made labels for each door and drawer so I can find my stuff.

By moving a table I was able to move my Cricut down and more than double my workdesk area.
I moved my sewing machine to the opposite side of this table and use the end of it to set up my paper cutting area.
This old dresser (which I hope to eventually paint white) was my cutting area before.

It's still nothing fancy and it's still in an unfinished basement, but I love it!  It looks bigger, but actually doesn't take up any more space than I had before.  Things are spread out and I can actually work on more than one thing at a time! I still have a few adjustments to make (like that filebox on the floor is going to be emptied) and since I took these pictures, we found a small, white 3 drawer cabinet that's now under my workdesk area.  So I even have room to spare!

Thanks for looking and letting me share!

Funky Christmas

Happy Saturday!  We have another challenge at My Sheri Crafts for you!  This week Raquel challenged us to a "Funky Christmas - Make any project using NON-traditional Christmas colors (no typical green/red/white only or white/blue only. You CAN use those colors but MIX it up with something else!)"

These reindeer are from Cricut Imagine Santa's Village.  The sentiment stamp is from Just Rite and cut out with a Spellbinders die.  That crinkly ribbon is some of my loot from my recent win at Little Scrap Pieces.  The paper is from Daisy D's.  I kept staring at this thinking it needed something else, but I didn't know what it was.  I finally pulled out a plastic net bag I had saved from a frozen ham and cut a chunk out of it.  I liked it!

This is a Ink-a-Dink-a-Doo stamp and another strip of the Daisy D's paper.
And there you have it!  Come on over and get funky with us!

An Autumn Tag

Hello Bloggies!  It's time again for a challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Sandy challenged us to create "Anything Fall/Thanksgiving Related".  I had two of this sunflower digi colored up and laying on my workdesk, just waiting to be used.  So I made a tag to use for a "Thank You" gift.

The digi is from Robyn's Fetish and colored with Spectrum Noir pens.  I used the second digi to pop up the top of the flower.  I used two sets of Spellbinders dies to cut the layers and the tag itself is cut with Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge.  The sentiment stamp is from Studio G.

So this challenge shouldn't be too hard!  Come on over and join us!

"Tag It" With Tuesday Throwdown

Hi!  I hope you all survived Halloween and the kids are over their "sugar high".  :)  It's time for a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and we have a "Tag It" theme, sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.  Here's my tag using a Robyn's Fetish Digi:
I think this little bear is adorable!

He's colored with Spectrum Noirs and pop-dotted on some beautiful Christmas paper from The Paper Studio.  I bought this paper pad last year and this is the first sheet I've pulled out of it.  Another stash item is the raffia I added.  I bought a package of that about 3 years ago and STILL have a ton of it.  I don't think I'll ever need to buy anymore (unless I "need" a different color... heh, heh, heh!)  The sentiment stamp is from Stampabilities and inked up with Studio G white chalk ink.

Anyway, I like how this tag turned out and it was really very simple.  I hope you'll join us this week with your tag project!

I've entered this tag here:

Lil Red Wagon - A Christmas Tag
Fab & Funky - Traditional Christmas colors
Divas By Design - use a digi

Recycled Pringles Cans!

I've been holding on to these Pringles cans just waiting to turn them into something.  I finally got the idea to use them for my grandkid's treat cans for Halloween this year.

Personally, I think the bats are my favorite part!  All these cuts are from Paper Doll Dress Up except for the iron gate and that is from Ornamental Iron.  I added some curly ribbon and raffia and there you go!

Thanks for stopping in by!

                              Celebrate what?  Anything you want!
This card is for our "It's Only Words" challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges.   The digi is from our sponsor, Melonheadz.

I added a little color to the black and white digi with markers and sparkly gel pens, then cut it out with Spellbinders.  I've added bling from Spare Parts Embellishments and 2 ribbons bought at a yard sale.  I left the inside blank so it can be used to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, exciting event or whatever.

Sympathy in Lavendar

Hello!  It's my turn to host the challenge at My Sheri Crafts. I figured there would be plenty of Halloween or Fall challenges this week so I went in a totally different direction.  I chose the theme "A Little Comfort" - make a Sympathy or Thinking of You card. This is one type of card I don't keep on hand and always seem to scramble to make when I need one.  This one, however, came together pretty well and is made all from scraps.
The sentiment stamp is from "My Sentiments Exactly" and is a inside and out set.  I added a little bling with my I-Rock and a ribbon from Wal-Mart.
I inked the inside by masking the center with a scalloped oval cut and applied the ink directly to somewhat mimic the purple paper used on the outside.
Just a simple card, but I'm pleased with the results.

I hope you will join in with us this week, but first be sure to stop by My Sheri Crafts and see the beautiful creations from the rest of the team!

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you enjoyed the visit!

Welcome!  I'm glad you're here!  Today I have  fun little card for Tuesday Throwdown challenge "Creepy Crawlies". We are sponsored by Simply B stamps and I've used her Franken Millerstein for my card.

Isn't he cute?  Who would be afraid of him???  He's colored with Spectrum Noirs, the papers are scraps from last year's Halloween cards, the orange burlap ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and that cute sentiment stamp is from Ink A Dink A Doo.  I've had this sentiment stamp set since the spring and this is the first time I've used them.  They're really cute and all written by kids.

Creative Craft Challenges Blogaversary!

Happy Anniversary to Creative Craft Challenges!  We're having a "Free For All" (anything goes) challenge to celebrate!  Our sponsors are Crafty Ribbons & Crafty Individuals.

I had an order for an anniversary card, so how perfect for this challenge?
I used a white card base & envelope.  I outlined the envelope with a silver paint marker to help match it to the card.
The sentiment is computer generated and one I saw in a magazine.

It's cut out with a Spellbinders die, outlined with the silver pen.  The ribbon is from Michaels, the purple gems are from Bo Bunny.
The inside sentiment is from Calligraphy cartridge.  I used the "print only" function on my Imagine, then cut it out with the same Spellbinders die.

Come on over to Creative Craft Challenges and help us celebrate!
