Kringle Reindeer Farm sign

Hello again!  It's time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone!  This month is a fun theme - It's The Name Game!  Make a project using something with the first letter of your first name or the last letter of your last name.  We have a great sponsor this month -
Gecko Galz.

I made this fun sign with a board from Hobby Lobby.  My Name Game uses are
S - square, sandpapering, smudging ink and stems

I first painted the board using a mix of reds.  Barn red was a little too dark and apple red was too bright.  Mixed together they were perfect! I designed the image in Cricut Design Space and cut it with Heat Transfer Vinyl.  This was my first time trying HTV on wood.  I thought it would need extra pressure and time, but it didn't.  I overdid it and it discolored some letters, thus the ink smudging. But I love how it turned out, so it was ok! I used sandpaper around the edges and grooves in the board, them inked it.

The sign was made to hang but I had decided I was going to make it a shelf sitter so I took off the twine and make sure the stems covered the holes.  After I got it all done I decided it could be used either way if I made sure the twine was in the back and knotted in the front.  The knots are hidden by the stems and the twine can just hang down the back if you use it on a shelf.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you over at The Outlawz where we have seven different challenges to choose from!

I haven't entered any challenges in YEARS but think I'll try my hand again.  I'm entering this project in these challenges:

Creative Fingers - anything goes
Crafty Gals Corner - anything goes with optional twist of ribbon

Uh-Oh!! I'm late with this post!  It's time for a new challenge at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone.  This month the optional theme is "It's a Digital World".

My project is a Christmas plaque with a digital Santa image.

I love the old fashioned Santa images!

This plaque was one I picked up at a yard sale and gave it a white wash effect coat of paint. The little black tag and the phrase I cut with my Cricut. Then added a little greenery, berries and pinecones from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join us over at The Outlawz!  We have new challenges almost every day of the week and the Card Free Zone is once a month.  See you there!

Hello again!  It's time for another challenge at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone!  This time our optional theme is "World Photography Day", use a photo in your project.

I went to my scrapbooks and pulled out a layout of one of my granddaughters on her school trip.  This girl is 24 now!

This was a really fun layout to do with all the fun patterned paper and letters

My pictures are a little crooked, but I had to take them while sitting down as I'm still recovering from breaking my achilles tendon and unable to put weight on my foot.  Very unhandy!

Thanks for stoppin by and please join in our challenge this month!

4th of July Old Red Truck

Hello and Happy Summer!  It's time for another challenge over at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone.  This month our optional theme is "Travel".

I have this cute old red truck that I bought at a flea market and I decorate it for different seasons/holidays. So, of course, I fixed it up for a 4th of July "parade"!

I made the medallion cut, the star and the door sticker with Cricut images and attached an easy bow made from various ribbons. I didn't get a very good picture of the bow.  I'm a little bit handicapped right now.

This image was a cut image, so I added a white offset and made it a print and cut sticker.    I hope you can enlarge the pictures enough to clearly see the designs.

As for my "handicapped" comment, I popped my achilles tendon last week and am on crutches and a knee scooter.  I have "no weight bearing" orders and surgery coming up next week.  According to the doctor, after surgery I will still be on very strict non-weight bearing orders for about 3 months, then 3 months of a walking boot and PT.  I never dreamed this would be such a long recovery and I'm fairly house bound until fall.  But on a happier note, I discovered that I can get into my craft room and into my desk chair and roll myself around to almost all of my supplies!

So anyway, I hope you will come join us over at The Outlawz for this challenge and many more!  Come check it out!

Scrap Block Repurposed

It's time for our monthly challenge over at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone.  The theme for June is "You Can Quote Me."

I found several scrap blocks that I've used for snowmen this past winter (I'll have to get those posted eventually!)  But I also found some small ones that I thought could surely be used for something.  So this one I decorated for my husband and just set it beside his sink in the bathroom for him to find.  It made his smile!

I painted the block red, added some scraps of scrapbook paper, some Jolee's stickers.  I sanded and inked the edges of the papers before adding the stickers.  The heart is cut from Cricut kraftboard, painted red and a little accent with a white gel pen.  The quote is from the '70's song "Still The One".  Tim had been playing that song on his phone from his You Tube "playlist" so I thought it was perfect.  I cut it from a scrap of red vinyl.

I hope you will join us over at The Outlawz.  At least stop in to see all the great inspiration by the design team!

May Outlawz Challenge

It's time for another challenge at The Outlawz Anything Goes In a Card Free Zone!  The optional theme for May is "Flowers" .

I recently bought this frame at a yard sale and just knew it needed me to fix it up a little. lol
It was already painted white and distressed so that made it really easy.

I cut some hearts out of Cricut heavy chipboard and painted them.  For the biggest heart I cut "Family" in white vinyl.  The greenery and flowers came from Dollar Tree.

I added some pictures from Easter and hung it on the wall!  Super easy renovation!

Thanks for checking in and I really hope you will join us over at The Outlawz!  We have different several challenges you can join but we sure would like to see you in our Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone!  LOTS of inspiration there from the Design Team!

Friday, April 5, 2024

Good morning!  I had intended to post a couple more projects before now, but life got in the way.  So today I'm sharing my announcement that I had mentioned before.  I'm on the design team for The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone!

I was on a team for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday group several years ago and just entered a phase of life where I had to give up all my design team positions.  Now I'm excited to be back!  These challenges post on the first Saturday each month and run for the rest of the month.  Challenges are always Anything Goes, with optional themes.  But please remember it is a card free zone.

For April, our optional theme is Numbers.  I made this little corner bookmark with cardstock scraps.
Using my Cricut, I made two hexagon shapes and connected them with a small rectangle.  For the top piece I used a smaller hexagon with the print-then-cut feature.  I folded the whole thing and glued it on the right side and there you go.
Now in all honesty, this was supposed to be a magnetic fold over bookmark, but I found out that my magnets are pretty weak and won't hold through the paper.  Soooo, corner bookmark it is!

I hope you'll join us over at  The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone this month and I thank you for stopping by my blog!

I'm Finally Back! And with an Easter Project!

Wow!  It's been a LOOONG time since I've been here!  Life has been crazy busy, lots of changes and adjustments, but I'm ready to do some design team work again.  When it's all set up, I'll be able to announce it here.

Meanwhile, here is a fun project I made for Easter!

This is an old ceiling fan blade that is 17" long.  I used a sheet of scrapbook paper and modgepodge.  I put the paper on at an angle to cover as much of the blade as I could, then used a scrap of it to cover the bottom piece.  The seam showed more than I liked, so I added the plastic grass to disguise it.

Isn't this bunny a cutie?!?!  I made the base with circles and ovals.  The face, feet and ear outlines came from Cricut Design Space.  The hands I made with ovals welded together and then used the offset feature to make the outlines.

I love making these bows!  Mainly because I struggle with a regular bow.  lol  But I'm still working on getting better at those!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you here much more often!  Don't forget, I have a big Design Team announcement coming!

Our awesome sponsor provided some of their sweet product for us and I used their "Hello Sunshine" set.  I received a set of clear stamps and dies to cut out all the shapes.  I loved this set!!!  Thank you Lawn Fawn!!!!

The inside sentiment is a Cricut cut that is perfect for the image I used:

This is also my DT card for Tuesday Throwdown.  This week we are sponsored by our very own Kim of Lily Patch Boutique!    Our challenge theme is the ever popular "Anything Goes", so we should be seeing a lot of you!!!

Stained Glass Frame Card

Good morning!  Today we have a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and our theme is "Embossing" and our sponsor is
 http://www.drsdesigns.com/

I have a little card front I've made with  our sponsor's "Stained Glass" image.  After coloring it, I mounted it on an embossed frame stamp from Just Rite stamps.

I'm thinking this will be a sympathy card, but still deciding for sure.

I hope you'll join us this week at Tuesday Throwdown!

Winter Sparkle at Tuesday Throwdown

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Let's start off the 2019 with a new fun challenge at Tuesday Throwdown!  We are sponsored this week by

and our theme is "Winter Sparkle".  Now who doesn't love a little sparkle on their projects??

I love snowmen and our sponsor provided this sweet boy that I chose to work with:

He's called "Country Snowman" and I've colored him with Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment is a Cricut cut that originally said "Snow Much Fun" and I added the Thank You with a Cricut Font.  I already closed out the program and don't remember the name of the font, though!  It doesn't really show up well, but all the words are cut from glitter paper.  The ribbon also has shiny silver and glitter snowflakes on it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join us!!!

Cute Dragon Panda

Hello!  This week at Tuesday Throwdown, we are sponsored by
"https://www.etsy.com/shop/KittyBeeDesign
and our challenge theme is "Playing Dress Up".

I've used our sponsor's image "Halloween Panda" for my card:

Inside is a simple "It's your Birthday!"

I thought this little guy was really cute and a lot of fun to color.
I used Spectrum Noir markers and two Cricut circles for his background.  A little twine finished it off nicely.

I hope you'll join us this week!  Thanks for stopping by!

Webbed Gate Card

http://www.disdigistamps.com/This week at Tuesday Throwdown we are sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps and our theme is "Webbed Wished - Use a Spider Web".

I had this fun image from Sasayaki Glitter already colored in my stash so when I found this cool Spider Web Gate in the Cricut Design Space, I knew what I wanted to do!

This gate is in Cricut's October 31st cartridge.  The font for Wyatt is A Frightful Affair.

I love that!  The monsters have arrived to Trick or Treat!
And then I found this card base in my stash that I had done last year and never used.  It's made with the writing feature of the Cricut.

Super quick and easy when you find these things in your stash!  Hahaha!

Thanks for checking in.  I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge!

I've entered this card here:

Aud Sentiments - funny sentiment (inside)
Craftng From the Heart - anything goes

Green Hope Ribbon

Hello!  This week at Tuesday Throwdown we are sponsored by  All Dressed Up
https://www.etsy.com/shop/alldressedupstamps and our theme is "For A Cause".
I know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but I kind of wanted to give a little attention to some other cause.  I looked on the Awareness Ribbon Color Chart and found that the Green Ribbon covered MANY causes, including Mental Health and Mental Illness. I chose this because I've just recently learned the "rest of the story" of a sweet little boy my friends adopted who occasionally had behavior problems.  Those behaviors became more extreme and more frequent.  They finally had to place him in a facility to get help.  They found this poor little boy had been so abused in his early childhood that he had developed 15 different personalities!  FIFTEEN!  Imagine the horrible things he endured to cause this issue.  Thankfully, he is getting the help he needs, but imagine all the people who can't pay for this treatment.

Anyway, here is my card:

I used our sponsor's image "Oriental Girl" and colored her with Spectrum Noir markers.  The ribbons are a Circut cut.  The top floral paper is a scrap and the name is gone.  The bottom paper is a Cricut print.

I felt it needed a little bling, but no more busyness, so I used Glitter Gel Pens to highlight the ribbons and various places on the image.

So thanks for stopping by and hearing a little bit of my heart.  I hope you'll join us with your projects and your cause!

More than just a little bit late!

OK, this is a lesson in not procrastinating. I posted my card to our DT page in plenty of time and then instead of going ahead to make my post on my blog and scheduling it, I just started a new draft and added the picture intending to come back to it.  Then I got sick with what I thought was the flu but turned out to be a combination to a UTI and a bacterial infection.  So here I am, 2 weeks later, scheduling my next DT post and finally getting this one posted!

This sweet image is from our own Crafty Girl and our theme at the time was to add some texture.  I added a strip of burlap ribbon and then used my distressing tool to rough up the edges.  Plus a few little gemstones.

Kitchen Trivet

My sister just moved back to our hometown and I'm happy to have her this close again!  I made this trivet for her first housewarming gift.

I found these trivets and Dollar Tree.  Weeding this was a lot of work, I won't lie.  I had to recut a few letters and add them in.  And then there was this "s" that I looked and looked for and didn't find until I was doing laundry!  I made another trivet that said "Nana's Kitchen" and I'll be changing one particular font before I make any more!

But I do like how they've turned out and Lynna seemed very pleased with hers.

Owl Bulletin Board

Doggone it!  I went on vacation and forgot to set this post to publish yesterday!!!

This week at Tuesday Throwdown our theme is "Book Lover or Book worm" and we are sponsored by
http://www.mygrafico.com/digital-stamps/cat_95.html

I've used an image from our sponsor to make a small bulletin board to use at work:

The image is approximately 7" x 7" and the letters are from the "A Child's Year" cartridge.  I've colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and hand cut it out.
