Hello again on another beautiful day!  I have another birthday card to complete a few challenges.  This one actually works for two different sketch challenges.  Here is the sketch from Less Is More

And here is the sketch from Card Patterns

And here is my card:

The card is cut from New Arrivals card feature at 5" with the cut out hidden on my Gypsy.

The 4 squares are punched with a Paper Studios punch and the brown square is cut with scallop scissors.  The buttons are from Wal-Mart and the cake charm is from my stash.
The sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up, Afterthoughts set.
Sorry this pic is so blurry.  The inside is finished out with another scallop edged square.  Everything is inked with Teddy Bear brown ink.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Less Is More - sketch challenge
Birthday Sundaes - Buttons
Card Patterns - sketch challenge

1st Halloween Card of 2011

Now that the worst of the Fall "busyness" is over for me, I have been looking over several challenge blogs.  I don't do much for Halloween, but my grandkids do expect to receive their cards, so I decided I'd just as well get started on them.  So here is the first one for this year:
Isn't he a cute little guy?  I used a scrap piece of black textured cardstock cut 6x11 for the card base.  The green mats (inside and out) are also from my scrap stash.  The patterened paper is the only piece that was not from scrap.  I bought that paper at a yard sale and there was no name on the back,so I don't know who's it is.
The little spider stickers are from Hallmark.  I had used almost all of the other stickers on that sheet, so they are kind of scraps, too!
"Happy Halloween" was cut from Holiday Cakes cartridge at 1" on scrap pieces of orange and shadow cut on black.  Then I added stitching to it and around Frankie with my green glitter gel pen.

"Frankie" is from Paper Pizazz - again, one of the few things I have left in that collection.  The ribbon came from Wal-Mart and added a nice touch.
I made this card to complete the challenge at Creative Cutter Room blog hop/challenge,which is Fall/Halloween with faux or real stitching, a sticker and ribbon.  Then I found that it qualified for a few others.  So I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Cricut Creative Cutter Room
Celebrate the Occasion - ribbon
Love To Crop - mostly scraps
My Sheri Crafts - stitching, real or faux

I hope the Trick or Treat weather is as beautiful as it is now!  I'll be back soon with another post...I actually got TWO cards done yesterday!  WOO HOO!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Pink Birthday Card

Hello!  I hope you are planning a fun weekend and your weather is beautiful!  We are gearing up for a Bull Riding outreach event sponsored by our church.  We will have free food, games, music and a bull ride with a devotion time instead of intermission.  The weather forecast looks perfect and we are excited to get it going!  If you are in the Cassville, MO area, come on out and join in the fun!

Today I have a pretty and simple card I made for a friend's birthday.  I just bought a new Martha Stewart border punch and of course had to use it right away!
The card is cut from Anna Griffen paper (love her stuff!) at 4 1/4 x 11, folded to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I used a Martha Stewart  butterfly border punch on the pink piece.  The cupcake is from Doodlecharms.  If you have looked at my blog much, you will see that I use this cupcake a lot! :)
You can just barely see that the "icing" is cut from white glitter paper.

I outlined everything with a dark pink marker and pop dotted the cupcake.  Seems like I have to use those in almost every card.
This sentiment stamp is from Studio G
The inside is finished out with the same border punch.  I hope you like the card and I really hope my friend likes it, too!

This card also fits the Flutter By Wednesday challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastically blessed weekend!!!

Jingle Bell Card

The Do You Stack Up Challenge Blog asked us to make a card using silver this week.  When I think of silver, I usually think of Christmas, so I have a little Christmas card to share with you.
This card was made using the Hobby Lobby Christmas paper pad from 2010.  The sheets are 8 1/2 x 11, so I just cut them in half and have 2 cards per sheet!  The bells are cut from foil paper with the Christmas Solutions cartridge and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  Really a quick and easy card that really shines!

I hope you are having weather as beautiful as we are here.  We were blessed with over 5" of rain over the weekend and now the temps are in the 70's.   We had a Global Impact Celebration at our church last week and spent some time getting to know some really sweet missionaries, a family reunion on Saturday (in the rain) and a school reunion.  What a busy few days!  Now we are getting ready for a community outreach event, which is a free Bull Riding event with a free meal.  Lots going on this fall!  It's a good thing I can get a little crafting in to save my sanity!!!!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Digital Layout with My Memories Suite

Tonight I received the photo CD from the photographer who took pictures at our family reunion on Saturday.  We had a beautiful tent set up in my Dad's backyard, but it was raining so hard that water was standing in his yard so most of us ended up in his garage! Anyway, when I looked through the CD I quickly spied some pictures of my grandson (the girls were at their Dad's this weekend) so I thought I would play with My Memories Suite again and make another layout.
Don't forget my giveaway of My Memories Suite software! Check that post here and get signed up!  Thanks for stopping by!

I'm excited to announce my FIRST BLOG GIVEAWAY!!!  My Memories Suite contacted me and offered a FREE Digital Program to give away!  So, how about we run a little giveaway until October 15th.  All you need to do is hop over to My Memories Suite, pick out your favorite paper set, then come back here and leave a comment on this post, telling me which set you would love to have.  Simple, right?  I won't require you to be a follower, but would love it if you became one.  After looking through their store, you may decide you want to go ahead and purchase the digital software and get started.  If so, I have a code you can use to get $10 off the price of the software, plus a $10 credit to use in their store!  Just enter STMMMS94415 during the checkout process.

Now a little bit about the My Memories Digital Suite.  It is VERY easy to use.  I am not exactly a computer whiz and I've never used any digital scrapbooking software before, but I made a pretty decent page on the first try!
This was my first practice page.

And this was my second.  I'm thinking I will like doing some hybrid scrapping, but strictly digital may be fun, too, once I really get the hang of it.  Anyway, go check out My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking page, find something you love, and come back here and leave me a comment about what you found and see if you can score some software!  I'll announce a winner on October 16th.  Good luck!

Western Thank You Card

A friend of mine asked me to make a Thank You card for someone who donated a saddle to use as a fund raiser for our annual Bullriding Bible Camp.  I knew the card had to have a saddle on it!
I used the Old West cartridge for all of it.
The patterened paper on the saddle is from an assortment of paper I won from Oh My Crafts.  I used a scalloped hole punch and gold paper from my scraps to make the conchos and folded tiny strips of brown paper for the latigo.  The rope is twine that was on a box of something I ordered.
The border punch is from The Paper Studio
And an envelope to match!  I hope both my friend and the donor like the card.  I'm really pleased with the result.

I'm entering this card in these challenges:
Love To Crop - Fall colors
Crafting Misfit - Show and Tell
Do You Stack Up - texture
CASual Fridays - Fall colors & paper piecing

Softball Layout

Hello!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  The weather here in SW Missouri is beautiful, sunny and cooler.  I love Fall!

I have gotten a little bit of scrapbooking done this week.  I'm still behind, but getting closer.  Cricut Creative Cutter Room has a challenge this week for Sports projects, so today I have a LO of my granddaughters summer softball.
I used Sports Mania and the background function.  I just love that function!  It makes layouts so easy!  On the mats, I used a Martha Stewart border punch.
"Play Ball" is cut from gold foil paper (Wal Mart brand) layered and pop dotted,

This layout is very quick and simple, but looks sharp and fresh.  I need a lot more of those quick and simple layouts to get caught up!

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for coming by!

Sweet & Simple card

A friend called me today and asked me to come look at her scrapbook stuff, she was selling it all.  I got there as quickly as I could!  When I got home and looked through my new treasures, I just had to make something with these beautiful stickers that were mint green and brown.  I just loved the colors!  I finally decided on one to use and make a simple card.
The sticker looks so full of dimension, it's hard to believe it's flat!  The sticker is from BoBunny and the sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up (also part of my new toys!)
The sticker is 3", so I cut a 3 1/2" square of brown and rounded the corners.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the "lace" strip, I'm not sure of the paper brand.  I ran the strip through the smallest Xyron sticker maker.  I don't know about anyone else, but I always get excess glue left on intricate cuts with this sticker maker.  So I just sprinkled some green glitter over it to cover up the extra stickiness and add some sparkle.
I really like how this one turned out and it was so simple!!  Thanks for coming by and I hope you like the card.
I'm entering this card in these challenges:
Card Patterns sketch 131

Stampin Sisters in Christ
